Boy seems to be several of these today. Here is a video that is a bit long winded but does a bang up job of "how to perform the motor coupler replacement.

My whirlpool thin twin washer wont agitate it just makes loud sound but will fill up with water

Your washer most likely has a broken drive coupling. If broken the washer will fill with water and drain, but the motor spins without driving the transmission (no agitate or spin). The part is common to all whirlpool washers made in the last 20 years and is readily available at all major appliance part stores. It is possible to change this part yourself but much less hassle to get it changed by a pro

USE WPL 285753 (Direct Drive Motor Coupling)Part Number: PS1485646

This coupling kit is used between the motor and the transmission on direct drive washers with no belt. This is the newer version and is made with new metal sleeves for added strength.

Hi my iomega select 34579 desktop 1tb harddrive won't even show up anywhere on my computer, now its windows 7 i'm running off of so i dunno if that has something to do with it, but i just bought this. the...

It has to do with the motherboard. If it isn't a USB 2.0 port it will not recognize the drive you will have to change the motherboard or the cheaper thing to do is put a PCI to USB card in the computer.I had the same problem with a buddy's computer.

Changing a belt on a washing machine

There is no belt on this machine.
It uses a direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission.
Ope the control console, then remove the cabinet clips to remove the cabinet for access to the motor.
Remove the motor then remove the broken drive coupling(3 parts).
Replace the part and re-assemble the washer.

My purple proggesive kenmore upright motor works but beater not beating help thank you

I just had the same problem - reset button didn't trip - cleaned the roller - ultimately found there is an override switch at the point where the hose attaches to the base of the vacuum - it disables the roller when you use the attachments. The hose had become loose (but not disconnected) enough to trip the switch. An easy fix after alot of tinkering... p.s. All those "experts" that said to change a belt obviously don't understand that this model is beltless...

Defective Lid Switch

Hello
jimen6lWelcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

Check lid switch for proper operation. Check the switch for continuity. If it is found to be open, replace the switch assembly.

Faulty Direct Drive Coupling
The Direct Drive (motor) Coupling may be broken. Many Whirlpool/Kenmore brands washing machines utilize a small, relatively inexpensive direct drive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other.

It can wear out over time or fail under overloading conditions. This protects your transmission from excessive loading.

Water Level Switch
If the water level switch is not resetting once the water is drain, power will not be available to operate the motor during spin. Check the water level switch for proper operation.

Washer makes noises

You said, when the washer is going into spin cycle it makes a loud clunking noise. You are wondering if this could be the brakes or possibly the pump?
