If it is an older pro 2052 they dont scan trunked and conventional at the same time. The newer models do both. I'm not sure what tear they changed it but search Google for an answer.

There's no keyboard lock function on the PRO-2052, so your unit is likely suffering from a logic glitch that will require a RESET. This simple procedure will restore your scanner to its original factory configuration, which means that it will erase/delete every bit of data that you've programmed into it.
To RESET the PRO-2052, - Power the unit OFF - Press and hold the 2 and 9 keys while you power the unit ON
The message CLEAr will display for about 5 seconds to confirm the action.
DO NOT power the unit OFF while the CLEAr message is displayed.

Display or backlight? If it's the backlight, you need to replace one solder-in bulb. Radio Shack part number 272-114 (5v, 25mA) will work. If it's the dispay you need to contact the Shack for a replacement.

That model does not have the ability to turn backlight on or off, your display may be on it's way out. Try resetting it first though, refer to page 66 of manual.
