First, be sure you have the battery turned the right way. Generally the Positive Tip (+) should be facing up. Yours may be the opposite, so try it both ways. Also, when you remove the battery look inside the holder for signs of corrosion. If there is some, do your best to clean it out with a Q-Tip soaked in WD-40.

If none of the above seems to solve the problem, look for loose wires from the Ignitor button assembly to the Ignitor Elements (Tips) in the grill. Also, the Ignitor Elements at each burner in the grill may be covered with grease, which will prevent them from firing. If you see that, clean them with alcohol.

Those are the basic things that cause a battery operated ignitor to fail.

Hope this helps to solve your problem. Please let me know.

Gas oven stopped working it heats up to 100 like it is supposed to then there is no whoosh sound and no futher heating .yes there is gas. it did this once before and then worked like it was supposed to...

Every time I have done this repair, the problem was the ignitor, even if it is glowing. Replace your oven ignitor, ask the parts company if there is a cheaper generic ignitor for your model. You could have a bad valve or a sensor, but since they came out with these ignitor models 12-15 yrs ago, it has always been a bad ignitor,. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Oven will not fire up fgf354bgwc

Hi, The ignitor could still be bad even if it glows. It is a very common problem on the gas reanges. The ignitor is getting so weak it will not open the gas valve.
I hope this helps you understand what is happening. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Ignitors keep firing by themselves after my aunt cleaned them 24 hours ago After she did the major cleaning of the stove I used the oven and it worked fine. I lit a burner (Probably front?) and the left...

If they ignitors worked properly before you aunt cleaned them, the problem could be with the way they were cleaned and what they were cleaned with. Please tell me how she cleaned them and with what. Also, had she cleaned them before without incurring any problems, or was this the first time she had cleaned them?
