Yes! You can select to copy from VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS, set the VHS tape ready to play and press pause, then put a blank recordable DVD disk in and then select copy, the options for VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS can be selected and then it will copy, when the tape gets to the end it will turn off itself, if you want to stop earlier you will have to stop it! Hope this helps.
Its a discontinued model, lots of people on the net saying they break down..a lot. Is the VHS tuner digital ? In my part of the world we dont have analogue signal anymore NW UK, maybe its analogue so wont record ??
Buy a DVD cleaning kit follow the instructions, sometimes brings it back to life. If no change! the assembly will need to be replaced,"not cost effective" cheaper to replace.
