Properly, you don't. You download or rip files from a CD to your computer, then you transfer the files from the computer to the Coby. File transfer instructions begin on page 32 of the manual.

When buttons on the player do not react, reset the player:
Disconnect the player from the computer.
See that the HOLD button is not engaged.
Gently push the RESET button on the rear side: use a narrow pointed
object, like a paperclip.

Did synchronization of the songs in Windows Media Player fail ?
For transferring songs, check in Windows Media Player:
1. The player is detected in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
2. Setup the Library / Add to Library: add the location of songs you want to transfer in the library.
3. Create Playlist; give the list a name and put songs in a playlist
4. Sync Playlist: transfer the list of songs onto the player and wait for the message until you're allowed to disconnect.

Transfers onto he MP815 can be done through exploring 'My Computer':
Music files must be copied into the Media folder of the player.
In this mode, the player shows as a removable disk in the computer folders.
Before disconnecting the player, always go through the safely remove hardware icon in the right corner below on the computer's screen.

When you're using a software program (e.g. Coby Media Manager or Windows Media Player) for transfers, use the help function in the software.
For Windows Media Player 11:
0. The player should be detected when you connect the USB cable.
1. Setup a library in WMP 11 [ Add to Library ], so the player knows the location of your music files.
2. Create playlist: put songs in a list
3. Sync the list onto the player
4. Wait until synchronizing has finished

For using video on the MP815, use Coby Media Manager for conversion and transfer onto the player.
Coby Media Manager can be installed from the CD that came with the
player.
When not having the CD: get a download of the manager from next page, matching the computer's Operating System (Windows or MAC):

In Coby Media Manager, in the page top select Tools > Device Manager..
Select the MP815 from the Devices list (click on MP815)
Add >> (MP815 as Favorite device)

Next to the Tools selection, there's a Help menu for how to use the Manager.

when you rip your music, it must have ID3 information attached to it, which will follow with the song, theres nothing to do on the MP3 player, its all with your music.

Sorry, iTunes will only work with an iPod. You need to export the podcast if you can as an mp3 file then you might be able to load it into that machine. Unfortunately I can't help you with that, I only know iPods.
