I ve a nokia 2730 classic model ...m using bsnl gprs service since it accesses 3g network ...,it can download with aspeed of 50 kbps. but for some time now its downloading in aspeed less than 20 kbps.. thats y i worry about dat...how can i speed up manually ?

This probable if your Network does not have 3G/UMTS coverage in that specific area.

I would set your phone so that it will automatically select 2G or 3G network services (e.g. often referred to as Dual-mode) so that if 3G/UMTS is available and has the best coverage/signal, it will automatically be selected. Setting UMTS coverage only would be very restrictive in many area as the signal is usually weaker (especially in Buildings).

Activate GPRS by sending GPRS PRE to 53733.
3. GPRS will be activated within 24 hours. After the GPRS is activated call the customer care for the GPRS settings.
4. Setup your phone according to the settings given by BSNL's Customer Care.
5. Now do a e-Recharge with Rs.230, or whatever unlimited plan exists in your area.
6. Go to your mobile phones network settings and select Dual Mode or UMTS as your Network Mode. In Nokia Mobiles, you can find this setting under Tools > Settings > Phone > Network> Network Mode.
7. Search for BSNL 3G signals, you will see a 3G logo near the network name. Set it as default.

This shows that you don't have the GPRS and MMS settings received on your phone.They are to be received from your Network Service Provider.Since you are using BSNL Network please do the following steps to receive the packet data settings on your phone.

BSNL 3G Configuration for HTC Wildfire (A3333) - Postpaid Connection:

1. Speak to BSNL customer Service center and get the confirmation whether 3G service is activated.

2. Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names -> New APN ->

Name: bsnlnet

APN: bsnlnet

don't change anything else and just save the settings.

3. Under 'Network Mode' the option selected should be 'GSM/WCDMA auto'

4. Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Select 'Mobile Network' to connect to internet and look for see letter 'H' at the top near the coverage bars.

5. Lauch the browser and check 'Google.com'

Its working fine for me after a long struggle with BSNL customer care, Finally got fixed by applying the above fix.

u can get speed of 384 kbps easily as max. speed of bsnl 3g is 3.6 mbps.u can also download opera mini6 on ur samsung sgh-l700 to get better speed

Regarding the GPRS settings you have to contact the mobile operator .Contact customer care of your operator and request for the settings.
If they say the settings are not available for your mobile model.Kindly note the settings manually by asking from customer care or by looking into settings available in other Bsnl mobile.
Just create settings manually and use the GPRS.Ensure you activated necessary GPRS package plan.
