I have hooked up my br to an onkyo home theater through hdmi. i now get an unusable signal on my flat screen. This also happens when I hook it up directly to the tv. What can I do to get this to work

Evidently this system is a speaker system that hooks up to 5.1 home theater receiver. I've included a few quote on how to hook up the 6050 system:

"Run the wires from all speakers and the subwoofer to the back of the receiver".. The key is to have a home theater receiver, then you can hook up the TV to the receiver.

Check the input selector on the TV, if you have audio only then it is a cable problem,
that means that cables are not connected in the right way.

You could have a bad Hdmi outlet . Try hooking up component c what happens

Did you confirm if this system has a System Setup On screen Display. All players do not have this function.

I have researched on your issue and found that the Receiver is not capable of processing audio from HDMI input. It will bypass the signals from its HDMI input to HDMI output..
The Receiver has 3 HDMI input and one output. Hence you can use this as a HDMI switch to connect three HDMI devices to single HDMI port on the TV.
In order to get the sound from speakers connected to the Receiver, it is required to make alternate digital or analog audio connection.
You can confirm the information from the manual of the Home Theater System. Please refer page # 36 of the Manual to get the information. I have provided a link where you can download the Manual for the HT System:

My HT-R560 receiver just did the exact same thing... Frustrating. I haven't had it for much more than a year. Any advice?

My HT-S6100 had a similar problem with my DVD player and some times with my Cable/DVR box. The signal wasn't getting received at the TV. So, first I changed the input jacks my DVD and Cable box are plugged into on the receiver (e.g. from HDMI 1 & HDMI 3 to HDMI 2 & HDMI 4). Second, I reprogrammed the Input Assignments to match (e.g. HDMI in 2&4). Third, I deleted any Input Assignments that weren't applicable. For instance, I'm only using HDMI connections, but there were Digital and Component Input Assignments programmed in. When I say I deleted them, I actually set them to "----" (just scroll through the options and you'll find this.) Finally, I turn on my video/audio sources (PS3 in your case) and let them load/warm up before I turn on my Onkyo receiver. It seems to be working. Good luck.

Make sure u have plugged in the audio cable to the tv.

unhook and reconnect a few times, try with power on and off, (they have to communicate with each other) if not, return receiver and get a new one.. I had this happen with my yamaha...

You will have to connect your coax to the tv coax input.You can view cable this way.To use the hdmi input to tv,you will have to change your input settings back and forth on the tv menu from hdmi to rf input.There is no way to hook your cable to the txsr.
