I have read and tried the posted solutions to install a driver for my virgin pulse Mp3 player for Windows Vista and have had no success. I also note these posts are relatively old. Is there a way to do this or is my player just out of date?

Hi, my pc don't read the mp34 audio player =( help!!!

Why is my mp3 and mp4 player not being detected by my computer when I connect it?

This may be caused by one of the following:
1. Minimum system requirements were not met.
2. Corrupted drivers.
3. Computer restrictions.
4. Power issue.

To resolve this issue, try the following solutions:

SOLUTION 1 - For brand new player or first time connecting to this computer.

For Windows XP users: verify the following operating system requirements are met.
- Windows XP SP2 or higher
- Windows Media Player 10 or higher

Download and install the latest Windows Media Player if it's not installed.

For Windows Vista users: If the player is seen in My Computer when using MTP mode, but not showing in Windows Media Player.
- Download the hotfix from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211.
- Run the hotfix.

For MAC users, see mp3 and mp4 player not recognized by a MAC OS

NOTE: If you are trying to connect to a Computer at work that is part of a network, there may be user right restrictions that are set to disable access to new hardware or stop any program installations. You may need to check with your IT administrator to see if this is causing the problem.

SOLUTION 2 - Refresh the driver

STEP 1 - Connect the mp3 and mp4 player to the PC
The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full.
- If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is readily available. Ensure you are connecting directly to the computer USB port and not to a USB hub.
- If there is nothing showing on the screen and the player does show up in as a storage device in an explorer window, then the screen is just not working.

If you receive the error "USB Device Not Recognized" on the computer, the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

STEP 2 - Check under Device Manager
1. Right-click My Computer, and select Manage.

2. Click Device Manager on the left pane.

NOTE: mp3 and mp4 Players can connect to your computer in MSC or MTP mode. Exceptions are mp3 and mp4 Connect and Sansa Express which only use MTP mode. MTP mode is the recommended and default method for mp3 and mp4 Players when used with Windows OS.

The mp3 and mp4 player will show up on Device Manager's right pane as:
1. USB Mass Storage device (if the player is set to MSC)
2. Portable Device (if the player is set to MTP mode)

If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) beside the device, try to refresh the drivers.

STEP 3 - Refresh the drivers
1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
2. On the top menu, click Action then select Scan for hardware changes.

NOTE: If a device with yellow exclamation point (!) continually appears and disappears, then the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

Sandisk is not detected in Vista operating system notebook

See the FAQ here - http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_view/faqs

The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.
The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:
SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199
SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)
SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

View/c200: Turn on & press and hold the rewind button while plugging into the PC

H.E.L.P!!!!!!!!!!!! PUHLEZE!!!!!

I had the same problem with mine. All you have to do is search these keywords: Virgin, MPF-1000, Driver, Download

When you search those keywords you should have quite a few options to download the drivers needed. Anyway, here are a few links to the software and/or drivers needed for you to be able to get your Virgin Pulse MPF-1000 working.

http://www.soft32.com/download_172979.html

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/39151

http://wareseeker.com/Utilities/virgin-mpf-1000-2.6.0.28.zip/1fbd18a12

http://pcdrivers.es/vp-mpf-1000-driver/download-2785.html (This download website is in Spanish for those of you that can only read/speak in Spanish)

http://www.drivers-software-download.org/virgin-mpf-1000-26028/

That will be all you need to do. Once you have installed the driver, plug the MP3 into the USB. Once you plug it in the autoplay should come up and just go from there. Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Thank You & God Bless,
