That particular printer can not use a refilled #28 cartridge, if you want to use refills you have to buy a #28a and #29a. They cost more to get but when you refill them they are a lot cheaper.
Because it's not a Lexmark original.
Replace with an original one and you'll be ok.

I replace the Ink cartridge # 28 with new OEM twice and the printer still indicates Black Ink low and will not let me print. Tried a refill cartridge same story. How Do I disable the ink level sensor and still print????
