We have an american fridge freezer and for some reason the fridge has got iced up inside. The water dispenser stopped working and now i have ssen ice all over the back of the fridge where the salad drawers are.

It almost certainly needs a new thermistor, which is the electronic thermostat sensor.

check the line that runs up the back of the fridge u have to take the back off sometimes there is something wrong w that line or there could be some water has frozen in the top of the line that goes into ur icemaker inside the freezer

You either have a faulty thermostat, a loose connection or most likely a build up of ice inside the freezer. I had the same problem. Almost replaced fridge. Took all the food out one day, took out the racks and disassembled bottom and rear and found a two foot log block of ice inside air return. Removed ice everything works perfectly.

If the refrigerator water dispenser (or ice) is not working correctly the water supply tube(s) may be blocked. This will be difficult to track down. Look for a connection point at the bottom or top of the door, try removing the hose and blowing air through it and out the dispenser. Next it could be the water valve that sometimes has twin valves for ice and water combined (this is most likely the culprit) , third is low pressure into the line (bad main valve) or clogged filter... you need about 20psi for function. Last is the door switch (try this first), when the freezer door is opened the freezer door switch does two things, it turns on the light in the freezer and turns off the ice and water dispenser. If the door switch fails the dispenser will not turn on or may just dispense one item. The switch can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter. If it doesn't have continuity it should be replaced.

There is air in the line. Let water dispense until it quits doing as you described.

The ice maker unit give the command to the water valve to relese water for a short time.
you cna check with volt meter on the water volve that got the pip go to the ice maker unit if it getting 120V for short time when the fingers of the ice maker making full round.
if you get 120v the problem is the valve (the ice maker and the water have difrent water path so its difrent valve used) if you dont get 120v or the fingers of the ice maker not turning then its your ice maker unit need to be replace.

You can use a hairdryer on the frozen parts.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge.The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. Sounds like the water hose to the ice maker has come loose. Is it in warranty?
