I hooked my tablet to my tv usb after downloading some movies some will play some not

Did you download in tablet or computer? Are those movies olayable on computer? If they play on computer it would mean that your tv cannot handle certain codecs or formats and you need to re-convert those movies to format understandable by tv. If they dont play on computer then either file is corrupted or you downloaded "fake" movie

HOW DO I USE THE USB PORT TO PLAY MOVIES

Some TV models have a USB port so that users could play videos and movies from USB on TV. You can try the following steps:

1. Connect your readable and writable USB drive to computer
2. Copy your movies to USB drive and then disconnect your USB drive from computer.
3. Connect the USB device to the Sony TV USB port. Turn on the connected USB device if necessary.
4. Press the HOME button on Sony remote controller to open the menu.
5. Enter the target USD drive.
6. Select the file you want to play back, and then press the play button to start playing movies on TV via USB drive.
It's quite easy to play movies from USB on smart TV devices.

Is the movie a store purchased movie or is it a movie that someone copied and gave to you? Computers sometimes have problems reading or playing a dvd or cd that someone else made and gave to you. Try a store purchased music cd or store purchased movie dvd and see if the player plays it.

Will Not Play DVD Movies

What program are you trying to use to play these movies? Windows Media Player will play some, but not others - I highly recommend Nero, WinDVD, PowerDVD or similar programs.

Question - are you able to browse the contents of the DVD drive in My Computer? Even if the movie doesn't play, you can still see the files (there will be an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder, which a bunch of VOB files under the latter).

If you can see the files, but movies won't play, you just need the appropriate DVD playback software.

Hope this helps - remember to rate :)

DVD PLAYER

Have you checked that the video card is capable of playing movies, that is does your computer meet the minimum requirements to play movies?

Note: Playback of movies is a very resource hungry activity and needs a powerful CPU and a powerful video card; not necessarily the most powerful by todays standards, but older computers may fall below ther minimums.

A modern basic video card should be able to play movies, but again check the minimum requirements for the whole computer to see if you need to upgrade any other equipment.

Secondly: Go to the video card manufacturers site and download the latest drivers for your card from there (Windows Update will not do this).

Good luck.
