I have a new replacement seal for my Bosch Maxx 1000 front loading washing machine. How do I change it? There is a white ring holding the seal in place. How do I remove and replace that ring without damaging it?

To change the seal the easiest way is to take the front of the appliance off. Remove the kick plate at bottom and you will see some screws holding the front panel on remove these Then open door and remove the screws holding the door lock on and unlip the seal by releasing the clamp on the front. The front should now lift off, if it doesnt then pull out the soap drawer and behind that at the bottom of the drawer is a screw holding the front on remove this then push the front panel down then it will lift off You can now take the clamp holding the seal to the tub off. Fit the new seal, fit the clamp to the seal and tub. From here, rebuilding is the reverse of the strip down.

We had the same problem - after cleaning it regularly with no success I called a local repair company who replaced the seal for a total charge of £69.

Not recommended, tilt washer backwards, and work spring on with your fingers, slowly going round the inner lip of the seal, it helps if you can get someone to help by holding the spring in place as you work your round the seal.

You can get seals on eBay

1) remove the tension ring under the rim of the seal at the front
2) flip the whole seal into the drum so that you can get at the inside of the seal
3) remove the tension ring hold the seal to the outer tub
4) reverse of the process to put in the new seal

Its as simple as that.
