usually the fan runs with door open as well. how ever u may have a problem with fan hitting something if it has come loose or off its support bracket, if u have an ice build up in freezer usually due to defrost problem the fan may make funny noises also
Hi the sound come from the fan it is locate inside the freezer behind the back wall. you can open the back wall and check if the fan hit something.. some times it hit ice .. let me know if you need more help.
Look closer because ice can build up and the fan just barely hits it making the noise. If the fan blades are not hitting anything, replace the fan motor as the bearings are getting worn out.
If this sound is when the compressor is cutting on or off it's the internal parts of the compressor. It can work like this till it brakes. There is no way to fix it without replacing the compressor. If you can put up with the noise just wait.
Or it could be the fan behind the back cover inside the freezer hitting somthing like ice build up. Try to pinpoint the area the noise comes from.
Need to unplug the refrigerator and remove the cover inside freezer compartment. Sounds like the evaporator fan is hitting something and we need to resolve this as soon as possible. Thanks Sea Breeze
Fan blade is hitting something probably, could be ice buildup in the freezer compartment. Open the freezer door and see if thats where your noise is coming from. If it is coming from the back of the refrigerator at the bottom could be something was drawn into the fan causing you noise.
IS THE NOISE SOMETHING HITTING THE FAN BLADE?
CHECK THE FAN ASSEMBLY BY REMOVING THE BACK PANEL IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT.
NORMAL NOISES IN THE UNIT ARE A GURGLING NOISE OR THE SOUND OF RUNNING WATER OR HISSING. THIS IS DUE TO THE FREON BEING PUSHED THROUGH THE SYSTEM AS THE COMPRESSOR RUNS. POPPING OR SNAPPING CAN OCCUR WHEN THE COILS IN THE FREEZER MOVE DUE TO A CHANGE OF TEMPERATURE.
GAIN ACCESS TO THE FAN IN THE FREEZER(EASIER SAID THAN DONE) AND INSPECT THE FAN BLADE AND FAN SHROUD. HAVE REFRIGERATOR TURNED OFF AND MANUALLY ADVANCE FAN BLADE. WATCH FOR SLIGHT CONTACT BETWEEN THE FAN BLADE AND OTHER OBJECTS NEAR IT-ELECTRICAL WIRING, FAN SHROUD, ICE CYCLE,ETC. ADJUST FAN BLADE OR OBJECT TO INCREASE CLEARANCE.
