I have a eureka the boss vacuum that won't pick up anything
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds t me like you may have a few problems, 1st the belt could be broken or stretched and is need of replacement. The belt should be changed every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning. 2nd your vacuum cleaner could be clogged and stopping anything from going into the vacuum bag. 3rd it also could be your brushroll – the brushes end up getting soft and short and between the brushroll and the combination of the belt not working as well may cause it not to pup. Check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting section for unclogging your vacuum. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My eureka boss 5856 has suction through the hose, but the cyclone isn't spinning and it will not pick up anything. I have tried using it normally and with just the hose and it will not pick up.

Is the suction strong or weak?
Have you cleaned or replaced the filter?

A plugged filter will restrict air flow and cause vacuums to lose the ability to work properly.

My Miele S3141 canister began acting strange this morning. No suction...so I took off the hose and checked for blockage, (nothing). Now I can't get the hose back on the canister. It just slips ar

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Air filter:
If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt and has no suction the air filter might be clogged. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.
Exhaust Filter If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the exhaust filter might be clogged. Remove and clean the filter, replace it if its torn or damaged.

Vacuum Hose If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum hose might be clogged. Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, stretch it out straight, shine a bright flashlight in one end and try to see light through it. If no light can be seen, use something to run through the hose and free up the obstruction.
Vacuum Bag If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum bag might be full. Clean or replace the bag as recommended by the manufacturer.

Dust Cup AssemblyIf the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the dust cup assembly might not be installed tightly, or it might be cracked or broken. The dust cup must seal tightly in order to produce the right amount of suction. If it is cracked or broken, replace it. Most glues and adhesives will not successfully seal the crack.
Blower Wheel If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and there is no suction, the blower wheel might be jammed or broken. Check the blower wheel to be certain it turns freely. If it doesn't, check to see if there is anything rubbing against it. If not, but it's hard to turn, the motor is most likely the problem.

Brush doesn't turn all the time

The belt is worn out and you need to replace it. It's slipping and that's what you smell.

Have a Eureka "the boss" smartvac, won't pick up anything when I try to vacuum carpet. Any suggestions on how to fic this problem?

1st) make sure your yellow dial at the top by handle is in floor position
2nd) make sure your brush roll spins when handle is reclined in operating position. (disengage brushroll control by flipping the "switch" towards you)
3rd) check belt to make sure it is not broken
4th) check the brush roll for debris caught in it
5th) check lower hose

Why does my vacuum leave a trail of hair on my floors when it's being pulled backward but suction up fine when it's going forward?

It is because the belt is worn and stretched. when you go forward there isn' t as much resistance and the brush can turn and pick up, but when you go back there is more resistance and doesn't pick up. You simply need to replace the belt. Here is the belt you need:

No suction power on my eureka boss vacuum (vacuum bag has been changed)?

Most probably a clog in the neck. This is where the power head connects to the body of the machine.

Remove the base plate (screws in). Take a look at the back of the head behind the beater bar. There is likely something blocked in the neck of the unit. Clear it out and you will likely me OK.

While it is open take the time to remove anything wrapped around the beater bar.

Good luck, please rate this answer if it helps.

Eureka boss power plus

I had this same problem. The brush roll wouldn't spin, smoke came out, and it smelled like burning rubber. I changed the belt thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't, so I took the belt back off and checked the motor shaft in the back and found a whole bunch of hair wrapped around the shaft. Once I cut out the hair with some scissors and replaced the belt, everything worked like normal. I hope this helps.

Eureka 4331 (Boss Lite) vacuum doesn't pick up dirt anymore

I no more use Eureka 4331 (Boss Lite). But the most common reason for not picking up dirt might be the vacuum bag might be full. Need to be Clean or replace as recommended by the manufacturer or The air filter traps particles as the air travels through the vacuum cleaner. If the filter is clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not have proper suction. If your vacuum filter is clogged, refer to your owner's manual for cleaning instructions. I recommend having Eureka Power Speed for yourself. 7_21_2021_9_09_38_am.jpg
