Acer extensa keyboard and mouse not working

Hope this will hep to diagnose the issue if it is VGA cable that is faulty of something else.

Please run system in safe-mode and see if it works then.


If both the keyboard and the touch-pad are not working, please remove the battery and run laptop on A/C.

If that doesn't help, reseat the keyboard cable on the mainboard.

If all fails, replace keyboard - It's a few US $

This problem is common with Acer Extensa seies . I've an Acer Extensa myself . and i always get this problem .
In future i advice you to not use the touchpad . Just use an external mouse to prevent this to happen .

Re set the video cable inside the machine.

AKA pull it out And put it back in should work.

Check the batteries and /or replace
Reset communication to the unit
Reboot computer and try a different usb port.

Nope.. send back... if it's refurb.. should be under warranty. They possibly forgot to reconnect keyboard and mouse cables under the keyboard.

I believe your windows is corrupt.
Try to reload your operating system, i have seen the windows corrupted and cause problem like yours.
If you have usb mouse (external), use the usb mouse and you can check in device manager,
I believe you will see many "!" mark on the drivers.

so solution is reload the operating system.
