My blackberry won't send or receive either texts or calls. But I can still do everything else like browse the web or send bbms..

This problem could be due to the lack of GPRS service. GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service, and it's what allows your device to access data. The first thing you should do is perform a soft reset. If that doesn't work, perform a hard reset. After both resets, check your wireless antenna signal strength. The antenna should show GPRS. If you can still make phone calls and access the Web, then your GSM service is still available. Try sending yourself an email . Does it work? If it doesn't, call your BlackBerry provider. Sometimes, your service could be delayed due to a billing problem or to downtime on the network.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 signal swing

#1 Your BlackBerry does not have sufficient Power
Check the battery charge level as shown by the battery icon on the top left of the home screen. No Power - Battery Charge Indicator does not show a charge or is very weak. The battery icon may be red. Charge the battery.
#2 You are Out of Network coverage area
Check the Signal Strength Indicator on the home screen. (1 to 5 bars, as shown below, indicating signal strength). If there is no signal, you may be out of range of the network.
If you are sure you are in range of the network, but show no signal strength, press Alt-Right Shift-Del at the same time. This will cause the BlackBerry to reacquire a network connection.
The process for this procedure is:
  • Press Alt-Right Shift-Del (The Del key is also the Backspace key.)
  • The screen will go blank, and an hourglass will appear. Wait for the hourglass to go away.
  • The startup screen will appear. Wait for it to go away.
  • A screen that says Verifying Security Software will appear. Wait for it to go away.
  • Check the Radio Tower icon.
If you are in Coverage Area of your Service Provider, You will get the network.
#3 Your Data plan is switched Off.

My Blackberry Bold 2 (9700) doesn't play any alerts when the battery level is low. I don't have the manual, so I can't tell if this is standard, or if there is anyway to fix this issue. Any help...

Hi this is normal for all BLACKBERRYS. What happens is the radio signal goes off. Charge your battery. Once you have a full charge on the phone take the battery out and rub the barcode where the sound strip is. Then putt the battery back in this should help solve that problem for you. Also don't let your bb get in the red to often it has an adverse affect on the phone. BB run on radio signals.

Can't use wi-fi without data plan? on blackberry bold 9700 can't transfer pictures from laptop to blackberry either?

you can surf the net on a wifi network even of you dont have a data plan. turn the wifi on then select "set up wifi network" then just follow the instructions to be able to connect to the network. if you still can't after doing this, it might be because the signal of the network is not that strong.
regarding the bluetooth, go to media, then press the menu button (the bb logo), then select "receive via bluetooth" for your bb to receive the file from your laptop/other phones.

Radio keeps shutting off

When there is no signal around ur blackberry will shut off the radio instead of constantly searching for one which really kills battery power just make sure you arent in a real signal dead area and you should be fine to turn it back on just go to manage connections and click it back on,if this is not the problem then there might be some problem with ur phone.

How can I use a Verizon V Cast cell phone when I have AT&T service?

You can't. Verizon phones are setup to send a receive CDMA signal. AT&T broadcasts a GSM signal. It's like buying an AM/FM Radio and asking how to get SIRIUS satellite signal on it. The verizon phones are built to pickup the type of signal AT&T sends.

Oh except the Blackberry devices. They are usually built to pick up both CDMA and GSM. You would have to pay some company or hacker to unlock the device. There is no universal code for the Blackberry devices, so you would have to pay to have this done specifically for your blackberry.

Internet no longer working

Dear JenBrodar,

it looks like your internet connection is struggling to get enough signal to connect your blackberry. I am not sure which network provider you are with and what kind of data package usage you have in your tariff but you can try this. pull out your blackberry battery from back without switching off your blackberry, then pull out SIM card and leave everything out for 1min then put it back everything. try to use internet when you see it has recognize again your network provider and you are getting full signals.

if this doesn't help then please provide more details about exact blackberry model number, mobile network provider and if you know about data service usage. in simple language data services enables you to use internet on your blackberry.

hope this helps and works fine.

Many Thanks.
