Unplug the refrigerator. For the refrigerator, unscrew the old bulb or bulbs and screw in a new appliance bulb of equal or lower wattage. For the freezer compartment, if a lamp is present, squeeze the top and bottom of the cover together then unscrew the bulb. Then screw in a new appliance bulb of the same wattage and replace the cover.

Note the appliance bulb is an incandescent bulb and may be hot.

The manual is available here: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/5791/GE-Top-Mount-Refrigerator-L0307014?brand_name_search=gts18dbpalww+ . The lamp replacement is given on page 13.

I hope this helps.

How can I fix a dim light bulb on an ice dispenser?

The dispenser bulb looks similar to a c7 christmas bulb or night light bulb but they are not the same. The dispenser bulb on some are 6 volt and some are 12 volt. The night light bulbs are 120 volt and will light very dim. Make sure you got the correct bulb from an appliance part dealer. They will need your model number of the fridge. Or check on line parts stores like www.vvapplianceparts.com.

GE Monogram ZV950S D2SS range hood - lights on one side stopped working then on both sides. This happened as I was changing bulbs. Everything else works.

Light doesn't work
  1. Light bulb
If your refrigerator light does not power on, the first thing to replace would logically be the light bulb itself.
  1. Light assembly
If your refrigerator light does not power on and you have replaced the bulb, this is an indication that the light assembly may have malfunctioned and will require replacement.
  1. Light switch
If you notice that your refrigerator lights are not working, replace your refrigerator light bulb. If this does not correct the issue, proceed to check the power light switch.
  1. Door switch
If your refrigerator light is not working and it is not the bulb itself or the power light switch, the next thing to check is the door switch. This can be checked for continuity with an ohm meter. If there is no continuity present, the door switch will need to be replaced.
  1. Light socket
If your refrigerator light is not working after replacing the light bulb, check for a possible damaged light socket. If the socket is faulty, replace the part to get your refrigerator light to power on again.
  1. Light board
If the refrigerator light is not working the light board could be defective. The LEDs on this board are not repairable, so the entire board will need to be replaced.

GE GTS20ICNCC Refrigerator light bulb burns out quickly

Use the correct wattage bulbs. If they fail often then you may need to get it checked by an electrician.
Filament bulbs easily burn out. What you can do is to buy cheap bulbs and replace as soon as they burn. This is the problem which is why tube lights and LEDs were invented!

According to GE this uses a 40 Watt appliance bulb. You should be able to get one from any department or home improvement store.
