I have a Yamaha APX500 guitar and I can't get the tuner to turn on at all. I tried two different batteries and neither of them made the battery light turn on.

The battery only comes on when the battery needs changing. It blinks momentarily when you press the tuner button and slightly longer when you press and hold the tuner button to turn it off.

SOURCE: tuner for my acoustic guitar no longer works

Change the battery again and make sure you get a fresh name brand battery.

SOME batteries that are off brand or old or just plain defective will cause your symptoms.

ALSO check that it is securely contacting the battery contacts.

Things thaat come on for a second MAY just be residual charge on the filter capacitors that a breif contact was made to the battery.

SOURCE: I recently purchased the Oscar

Plugging the cable into the guitar should turn on the electronics.

SOURCE: bought apx500 from ebay. new

to me it sounds like a loose connection or solder point is completely disconnected take it to your local shop and should take them not time to look it over. unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself. do at your own risk.

Don't know how to turn on tuner

put a battery in your guitar. It goes in the space at the bottom, usually where you connect your cable to your amp.
Then hold the guitar as you usually would.
Look for a little board with buttons on the side of the guitar to turn on the tuner: )

Hi i recently bought a Takamine EG 260c G Series acoustic electric Guitar with TP-4T preamp installed in it. Now the problem is when i connect my guitar to an amplifier, the sound comes through it only...

That is working backwards from what it should be. I suspect a wiring error. Since this is a recent purchase, do NOT risk voiding your warranty. There isn't any real good documentation on the tuner.
I am not sure which tuner you have HOWEVER with one type, the FIRST press will turn on the tuner with the sound going out as well till the tuner goes off. The SECOND press silences the sound and is tuner only, the THIRD press turns off tuner and passes the sound. This is different than a lot of tuners and you will need to do three presses to restore sound instead of the usual two.

How to adjust the neck to make the strings nearer to the finger boards

Two ways I'm familiar with ::

1) adjust the bridge downward (I looked at the guitar on line -- couldn't tell if it has an adjustable bridge)

2) remove the cover above the nut (where the tuning keys are) -- use a wrench to turn the nut on the rod which runs thru the neck -- it doesn't take much turning of this nut to have a big effect

With either approach, the issue with adjusting the strings closer to the finger board is that too much adjustment will cause the strings to rattle on the frets.

My tuner shows a green flashing light, the battery is new, even checked it with another one. No matter what i do it just shows a green flashing light. picking the strings for sounds makes no difference at...

Often, the flashing green light indicates that the tuner is NOT receiving a signal and is a warning that the tuner is turned on.

First thing is to check if you have normal output from the guitar from the pickup. If the output is normal, there MAY be a failure in the tuner.

ALSO, just because a battery is new doesn't mean the battery isn't depleted... either try another from a different batch or use a voltmeter to check it. I have seen people chasing their tails due to a brand new bad battery.

When you select the tuner does the audio OUT of the guitar cut off as it is supposed to?

Can't figure out where the batteries go on yamaha AP500 acoustic electric guitar. I unscrewed the small little box and pulled out a bigger box with no obvious batteries in sight.

If it is an APX-500, the battery is in a holder between the neck and the tuner on the curved sides of the guitar. It should unlatch. The battery (9V) goes into the holder and is inserted and latches.
