Does Alohabob PC backup give you the option to reinstall start menu programs from the backup, just as they were in your start menu before you backed them up, Rather than reinstalling from CD/DVD's? I...

If it truly is backup software then yes and no. Yes it can back up the programs but a lot of the time there are registering of DLL files and registry settings that don't get backed up and there for the programs wont work. So backing up programs is never a good idea. You can however download some free software such as EASEUS. This program can do drive to drive copy this would allow your programs to be copied over and work on the new hard drive. You could also get Norton Ghost and create and image disc and use that as well to essentially move the programs and data to the new computer.
Comment if you need further assistance.

Is there a place to download the cd that came with the singer futura CE-100 embroidery machine. I don't think I should have to pay for something that came with the machine.

Oh, I agree with you. Unfortunately, there isn't a place to download the silly thing. I searched all over the place when I lost mine and just couldn't find anything other than the fact I had to go back to Singer to replace it.

I suggest STRONGLY that you be sure to do a backup on a portable harddrive/CD/something similar of the CD when you get it. Be aware that you should do it as a system backup of your computer, because the program will ask you to insert the CD if you simply try to do a reinstall of the program. That's why it doesn't do any good for anyone to upload it to the web for people-the program is set to check for an original CD from Singer before it will proceed.

If you have lost windows password, the best thing for you is creating a password reset disk.Actually, when you add a password to your pc,the first thing you should do is creating a disk in case you lost the password. But how to make a password reset disk after you have lost the password ? Follow these
You need to prepare:
1:A blank CD/DVD or USB flash drive
2.A computer which can link to internet
3.A program called Windows Password Key
Then let's begin
Step 1.Login to a PC which can link to internet,Download and install the program from in that PC
Step 2.Run the program and burn to CD/DVD OR USB flash drive
Step 3.Turn to your locked PC,insert the newly create CD or USB to your drive.Reboot the Computer and then follow the instructions,it is very easy to use.

Microsoft office will not run.

If you have the CD and the purchase receipt, you're golden. Just phone Microsoft Support and explain what happened. They'll likely have you fax them the receipts and the serial numbers, and presently will send you a validated serial.
If you don't have an Office recovery CD, i.e., if the only CD you have is of the "Wipe Everything And Reinstall" variety, you may have to ask them for an Office installer of the correct version.

If all else fails, you'll have to backup all of your data using any of several free backup utilities on an external drive, and then use the wipe-and-reinstall CD to revert to the clean slate PC, and finally restore the data back from the external drive.

if you reformatted the drive the data was on (as well as where the backup was (don't backup data from one hard drive to the SAME hard drive)), then all hope isn't lost.  go to download.com and look for file restoring programs.  a number of them are free and can recover data on hard drives as long as their sectors haven't been rewritten.

Lost microsoft office

Insert the office discs and select the repair option from the startup screen. This will overwrite any corrupted files and registry settings.
If this doesn't work you can do a complete reinstall by uninstalling in add remove programs and restarting your computer then reinstalling office. This wont affect any of your documents and will replace your office files.

HI have a ACER HL-DT-ST-DVDRAM GSA-T10N ATA DVD DRIVE AND THE DVD DRIVE OLNY LOAS SOME PROGRAMS ON DVD DISK AND NOT OTHERS AND ALSO WILL NOT WRITE TO THE DVD OR CD DISK

the cd-dvd drives will only work if you have a good non-microsoft burning program. Your computer came with such programs--one or two. find out by installing a freeware program called Belarc advisor. It will show you all hardware and software with ids and version numbers. You didn't mention if your computer was an Acer. If it is, you have a copy of all the software saved on the hard drive. or did you purchase the DVD drive separately? if Acer, you can find and reinstall your original program using Acer eRecovery Management. (You can read about your Acer by clicking on "All Programs" and then on "AcerSystem", where you will find your manual, where you will find the following info: The eRecovery allows you to backup/restore the factory default image, and reinstall any applications and drivers. (In this instance you want to reinstall your CD-DVD burning programs). You just need to select the Burn Disc button, then select the application you want to burn to the disc--in this case, you CD-DVD buring program you identified with Belarc, burn it, then reinstall it. (You might want to burn all the applications the computer came with, just to have them for backup). That should get you going again. Let me know if you run into any problems.
