You did'nt discribe the noise, could be a few things based on noise. Thumping could be a bad drum support wheel, Squeeling could be Teflon bearing strips on lower lip of front drum end, or motor bearings, or tensioner pulley, or belt slipping cause by weak or broken tensioner spring, for starters. A good source for ALL appliance parts is WWW.PARTSCLINIC.COM must have model & serial number, located behind door upper left,or in back on a tag.

Bravos mct Dryer Loud Screeching sound upon startup ModelMEDB850WQ0

A loud screeching sound from your dryer could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Belt: A worn or broken belt can cause a loud screeching sound. To check this, unplug the dryer and remove the front panel. Look for any signs of wear or damage to the belt. If it looks worn or broken, you'll need to replace it.
  2. Drum Rollers: Dryer drum rollers can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, the rollers may be worn and need to be replaced.
  3. Idler Pulley: A faulty idler pulley can cause a screeching noise. You can check this by removing the belt and spinning the pulley by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Motor: A motor that is failing can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand and listening for any unusual sounds coming from the motor.
If you're not comfortable checking these components yourself, it's best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.

An extra loud noise starts when drying

In all likelihood the belt that turns the drum is frayed. and may need replacing. It would be a good idea to unplug it and take a good look at the belt before it comes completely off, this way there won't be any confusion about how the new one goes on.The only moving parts when it is in operation is, the drum, belt and a very small wheel on which the belt travels.

The problem I am having with my Amana model NED7800AYW makes a loud noise when running

Without knowing what you mean by "a loud noise", I am going to say it sounds like the blower wheel has come loose and might need replaced.

Really loud whirring/squealing noise

Yes, It is still safe but very annoying...
The source is probably the guide rollers for the drum or the belt tensioner pulley. To know for sure you will need to pull the dryer apart and turn it by hand slowly and see where the noise is coming from...

Drum not turning-very loud sound coming frm dryer when turned on

There could be multiple problems with you whirlpool dyer depending on the type of noise you are hearing. If the noise is a low grumble or loud buzzing sound this could indicate a bad motor. Which could explain you not hearing the drum turning. If however you hear a grating or grinding type noise but the drum is turning, this could indicate that something is rubbing or has become jammed inside the blower fan that circulates the air. if this is the case it too may have to be replaced. Also the drum can sometime come off the drum support rollers at the back of the dryer, but this is very uncommon, and only happens if they are very worn or broken. This can easily be diagnosed by a technician and if the motor is fine, will cost little to repair.Hope this helps.

Thanks

Loud rumble sound, Vent hose vibration

That model of neptune dryer had a problem with the blower housings cracking. When the housing cracks, it binds forward into the blower wheel making a loud "rumble" noise and vibration. If you open the door and manually turn the drum and you hear a rubbing noise and feel alot of resistance, then you have a cracked blower housing and need to replace it. It is not an easy job to replace, so if your not familiar with dryers, you should have a technician replace it. Let me know if you have any further questions. shane
