I recently decided to purchase a subscription to rhapsody because my Sansa e260 is a compatible device with their ToGo service. But now that I have installed the rhapsody software my Sansa e260 is not being recognized by rhapsody. I was able to get the mp3 player to work on my office computer which has Windows XP with out a gliche but when I attempt the same procedures on my home laptop I just can't get it to work. My home laptop has Vista which I believe is what is causing the problem but I am not savvy when it comes to this sort of stuff so I don't know how to resolve my problem. I have contacted Rhapsody tech support and I have provided them with a system information report and a directx diagnostic report from my computer. The only solution they gave me was to uninstall the rhapsody software and re-install which I have done countless time already and I'm still having the same issue. Can anyone help me out PLEASE? I have spent so much time on this that I'm about to go crazy, I just want my mp3 to work properly as it does on my work computer. THANKS!!!! (I apologize for so much info but I figured that it might help)
thanks for trying but i shouldn't need to pay almost $300 to get my mp3 player to work with rhapsody, napster or other music sites. hopefully someone else has a better solution for my problem. please help me!!!!thanks for trying but i shouldn't need to pay almost $300 to get my mp3 player to work with rhapsody, napster or other music sites. hopefully someone else has a better solution for my problem. please help me!!!!
I have same exact problem, works fine with XP but when I try to get Rhapsody to recognize the player using Vista OP it does not work. It works if I change the mode, but then cant see already loaded songs. I believe it is all due to this DRM ****. Anyway, I have been searching for a solution for months, but to no avail.I have same exact problem, works fine with XP but when I try to get Rhapsody to recognize the player using Vista OP it does not work. You need to synch them to Rhapsody or whatever music service you pulled the songs from. also, make sure your music service subscription supports transfer to portable devices instead of simple transfer to a computer.
This player is a little goofy. The normal method to synchronize is through Windows Media Player. But if you go for the Rhapsody subscription, you have to also sync the device through Rhapsody.
Unfortunately you are not going to be able to go online to sync your device...All music subscription such as napster and rhapsody require you to sync your device every single month using their actual software..The reason is to prevent customer from cancelling their music subscription..once you cancel your membership all the songs you have on your device will become useless. In another word, you are renting the music from the subscription company...
P.S.Please rate accordingly... Thank You Computerrep
Make sure the date/time settings on your player are accurate. Mine got reset to last year and it was thinking that my subscription was expired when it wasn't.
That means you will need to transfer one track to your device from rhapsody..the songs you have from rhapsody has a license in them...the licenses get renew every month..that means if you discontinue your service, you are not going to be able to play those songs...just try to transfer one track from rhapsody to your device and that will solve your problems...
