You may try to use compatibility settings. right click on the Application file (the file you use to start the game) Click 'Properties' Click on the 'compatibility' tab on top Select 'Windows XP' or some older Windows OS Apply Try playing the game again.

Why does my scrabble complete game hang up all the time using windows 7

When it locks up like that, it means you've got a virus that slows things to the point of aggravation. Just reinstall your Operating system and you'll get back to new again. Make sure you JUST replace the OS and it will leave everything else in tact. It's easy to do, just takes time for the fresh install. Patience is required.

How do I open Scrabble CD-ROM on Windows 7 when it was meant for Windows 95 or Windows 3.1

Insert the CD, and navigate to your CD/DVD drive (usually D:\, however, this is not always the case, look under "My Computer")go into the CD, and you should find a program named something like "Scrabble.exe" (if you don't see this file, comment on this question, telling me what files and folders are on the disc) right-click on this file, and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility" give your computer a while to sort itself out, and then select "Try Recommended Settings"

Cd wont play

Turn the disc over. Are there any scratches? If there are you can use a filler/polish to clean it up and get it working again. Brasso (a metal polish) works great! If there are no scratches on the disc then you may need to run a lens cleaner through your cd/dvd drive. If you do this and it still will not read you may need a new drive. Does it have problems reading other media?

I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!

Why my scrabble complete infogrames will not work on my OS Window 7 Is there something I can do? The game load perfectly, but when I try to play the game it freezes up.

I tried the solution below and it worked for me. I am running Windows 7, 64-bit
Download the NO CD patch from this site:

http://m0003.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_scrabble_complete.shtml

It is an rar file and not the typical zip. The freeware program 7-Zip can extract it if do not have a zip program that will work (Free download from most Freeware sites).

Extract the Scrabblecomplete.exe file and copy it to the directory in which the program resides. Let it overwrite the original. You will no longer need to insert the disc to run the program and it should work without freezing. Mine has been fine for the last few days of extended playing.

Atari Scrabble Complete has been playing well on XP for years. New computer has Windows 7 and Scrabble freezes when it begins loading. I also have BitDefender Anti-Virus installed but it does not seem to...

Unfortunately not all games will work with newer versions of Windows even with the compatibility modes. Atari Scrabble is an older game, and Atari stopped providing updates for the game some time ago. At this point your best bet is to find a version of Scrabble that is compatible with Windows 7. Microsoft has a Windows 7 Compatibility page on their site. The website address that is below lists another companies version of Scrabble that will work with Windows 7. Check out your local PC game retailers or the Internet to find and purchase a copy or search to see if there are other versions that will work with Windows 7.
