In the bar "select a product" select your player and click GO on the right side. All support for this player will be viewed.
T30 English manual link will show up in the list. On the next page you can download the zip file for either iRiver Plus2 or Windows Media Player.
Not sure if the T30 will work with Windows 7.
It depends on the firmware you have in the player.
Normally Windows Media Player should detect the T30 in MTP mode.
When having firmware that only detects the player in MSC mode, seeing the player as a removable disk: there are MSC drivers available under software&driver ( T30umd.inf ), not sure if they'll work on Windows 7.
There are several possibilities:
1) The songs you are trying to load to the Mp3 player are not compatible with the Nextar - a good test for this would be to connect your Nextar to the PC, open Windows Media Player, and click the Library tab, then the Sync tab - if a little blue "i" appears next to the song, it will not work with your Nextar. In fact, any song that is not in mp3 format or unprotected WMA (very few WMA's are unprotected unless you Ripped them directly from CD) will not play in the Nextar.
2) You have the Hold switch engaged - unlock it
3) The PC's you are trying to connect it to are running Windows Vista - not compatible with Nextar
You are right about the Vista. The nextar was designed to work with up to XP. It wasn't designed for Vista at all. You could try getting Vista to treat it as an old OS by selecting the player, (and if Vista works anything like Windows 7) by right clicking on the mouse and select compatibility options. Or finding the option to do the same in Windows, if it doesn't come up in Vista. (Never used Vista so do not know it). Anyway then select the OS of your old computer for the compatibility.
Many people sow the Nextar T30 as not being shown on their PC just as mine did. I found that, the USB port on the T30 is very very tight and even when you have the mini USB in enough to charge the device it doesnt always read it. You have to push the plug in until it snaps in place. You will see no metal on the mini USB plag showing at all once it is in all the way.
I first put the CD in that came with it, then I opened it and found the folder with the firmware update program and clicked on it to install because it also has the drivers. Once that was done I restarted my PC and then connected the USB plug in all the way until it snapped in place (be carefull could break it as it is too tight really). And now my player works every single time all of the time.
