I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven. I tried to use the Auto Clean function tonight, but after about 15 secs., the oven displayed error code FSE1, beeped multiple times, and then stopped the process. I would like to know what this error code means and how to fix the problem. Thanks.

I recently received Error code FSE1 on my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Self-Cleaning oven which indicates the automatic door lock mechanism is not working properly. Before you spend money to possibly replace parts try doing what I did which took care of the problem nicely. With the oven door open locate the latch lever at the top of the oven. Using your hand slide the lever to the right just as it would to lock the door. In my case the lever was simply stuck and required a bit of force to get it to move. After you get the lever to move repeat the action several times. While doing this I found there to be a clicking sound which seemed and sounded normal. Close the oven door and start the self-cleaning function again. It worked for me - I hope it works for you!

Suggest obtain the owner's manual for your oven and locate the
FSE1 error code in the trouble shoot section then follow the corrective steps.

I researched your question regarding error code FSE1. I could not find a response regarding a self cleaning oven. If you will provide the model number on the below listed website under "cooking" you may get a detailed response.
http://producthelp.whirlpool.com

It seems that a general "fix" for error codes is to got to your electrical panel and shut off the breaker controlling your device for 1 minute. This resets the device and will reset the error code. (May not fix your issue but will reset code.)

Your manual should have a list of error codes to help you resolve this issue. If you have misplaced the manual, you can also download one for your device from Whirlpool's website as well.

If all else fails here are the U.S. and Canadian telephone numbers under "Contact us". I do not know if this is a pay line or Whirlpool will answer your questions and attempt to resolve at no cost.

check the operation of the micro switches on the lock motor. that they are open when they should be and closed when they should be. often they need to be cleaned or replaced. if this doesnt help re post there is some board work to do, i would suggest a tech do this part though. always unplug range when you work on them! good luck.

Same thing happened to me about 1 month ago... Did you get some kind of power outage or lightning strike??? I am pretty sure the stove part works but the oven doesn't right?!?! It might be 2 things.. Either the temperature sensor inside the oven doesn't work or it's the control board (where the clock is). I tried to chaned teh temp sensor but it did not work. I then changed the Control Board and oven works again...

I had the same FSE error which the whirpool web site advises that you will need to schedule a service appt to fix. Instead I leaded against the door while initiating the cleaning cycle and the door locks and oven cleans fine.

The oven door won't open, and there is still food in it. We have a Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 Model, amd need assistance immediately.

Hello. It is possible that the oven accidentally got turned to the self-clean function. Check to see. If it is set to self-clean, the door lock activated. In order to unlock the oven has to be taken off of self-clean and then it has to cool down to room temperature before it will unlock. Joe

I have a Whirlpool Gas Super Capacity 465 oven model SF325PEGW. I have lost my manual and I do not know if this is a self-cleaning oven or continuous cleaning or if I have to use Easy Off.

You can download the manual on the Whirlpool web site. Drill down to the technical and service sections. It takes a little poking around, but the information is there to download for free.
