Try leveling up your frame, using a long carpenter's level. Also, check to be sure the wheels on the sensors all make good connection with each other. If one is not, stitches will be skipped when you quilt in the direction of that set of sensors.

I have a Hyundai 8 stitch sewing machine and have great difficulty sewing with it. The thread keeps bunching up underneath and misses a lot of stitches. I have followed instructions, both threading up

here is a suggestion for the skipped stitches
Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly

and since it stops with a crunch,, I suggest having the machine
checked to see why that happening

Singer Model 99 skips stitches

Sewing machine skips stitches
needle inserted incorrectly--flat side of the needle faces the shaft
round needle--groove of needle faces away from the shaft
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the needle. Place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side of the needle facing the back of the machine.
If round needle--the groove in the needle faces away from the shaft
Push needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go.
possible bent needle--lay needle on flat surface & roll needle over, if the needle does not roll good -replace
blunt needle point--needle makes a popping sound when needle penetrates the fabric--replace needle
needle not all the way up in needle holder--loosen needle clamp screw & push the needle up until it stops then tighten screw
incorrect threading--one step missed in sequence of threading can cause machine to skip stitches
wrong needle in machine--check instruction manual--some machines can use a generic needle with no problem--some can't--
size of needle & thread not compatible--
Using the wrong type needle can cause problems,,
A needle to fine for heavy fabric can bend or break when it hit's the fabric
And a too large needle can make puncture holes in the fabric and pull unevenly while stitching

Juki TL98Q long arm quilting machine: can sew perfectly then all of a sudden a series stitiches are skipped. Why?

Using a long carpenter's level, level up your frame. Low areas in the frame can cause skipped stitches. Also, check the wheel sensor wheels-are they making good connection? These can lose connection when you quilt in certain directions.

Skipped stitches

You will need to take your machine to a dealer and have it adjusted. Machines should be cleaned and serviced at least once a year. Needles should be replaced when dull. Skipping stitches can also be from using the wrong kind of needle. When quilting on cotton, use sharp needles, when sewing on knits use a ball needle. You can use a universal needle but they aren't perfect and will cause skipping on some fabrics.
