This is the oven cavity extractor fan. It removes all the hot air from the oven cavity and blows it out the front. When the oven is hot and you turn it off the fan will continue to work until the oven cavity cools down.

Are fan forced ovens meant to have hot air coming out from the top of the door? I have a built in chef fan forced wall oven

Unlikely there would be no air spilling through the door seal because it is an oven and not a watertight compartment. An oven door seal needs to be hard wearing and able to withstand high temperatures and hot grease which limits the materials used, that and the fact few domestic oven doors actually latch these days but are held closed by springs meaning the pressure against the seal is relatively light which means the door, the shut and the seal must be manufactured to a high degree of accuracy and properly adjusted.

If the amount or air leakage is excessive perhaps the door could be adjusted or the seal replaced. Try asking around to find someone with a similar oven so you can compare...

I have just purchased a Neff U17M423GB built under double oven from JL. When I put it on preset timer for the bottom oven, the fan starts blowing cold air out of the vents above the top oven. When t

if this is gas it calls the induced draft motor to come on for 15 to 20 seconds to clear any residual gas before beginning the ignition process begins. Very normal and a safety feature.

Can you explain how to replace the light bulb in my amana oven?the model number AARG7303WW

This worked like a charm ... actually it's easier than you might think. Just a few screws and a few tugs. Give it a shot.. I found a 10W (G4 style ... you'll see the difference when you get to the store) replacement bulb at Home Depot for $6:

1) Turn off power to the unit
2) Open the lower oven door
3) Remove the side trim screws and pull the trims down and out.
4) Remove 2 screws on the sides of the control panel.
5) Open the Microwave door. Remove the 3 screws on the Air Vent Plastic Cover on top of the microwave. You can then remove the Air Vent Cover by pushing the control panel up and pull out slightly at the bottom.
6) Remove the 4 screws on the Air Vent Plastic Cover on top of the lower oven and remove the Air Vent Cover. (You may have to remove the left under side bracket of the Microwave door temporarily just for the Air Vent Cover to clear the screw of the bracket. Re-secure the side bracket of the Microwave door panel as the front panel may fall)
7) Remove the 2 screws which held the Microwave unit in place behind the Air Vent Cover on step 6.
8) Wiggle the Microwave unit out about half way to expose the light bulb unit on top center
9) Wiring to the Control Panel will prevent you from pulling the Microwave unit out any further. And you don't want to do that as the unit may fall. Space is cramped, but working carefully with your fingers or pliers you should be able to release the springs which held down the light bulb unit and change the bulb.

Have a maytag super capacity plus oven i tried cleaning the oven now the door will not open and it shows f9 on the front

Had the same problem. How I fixed it, was by using a very thin, and I mean really thin, flat tip screw driver and a flash light. Unplug the stove. Use the flash light to look at the very top of the oven door. You should see in the air vent slats a silver hook. Use the screw driver to go through the vent slats and push the lock open. Now, you should be able to open your door. But we arent done yet. With the door open, plug the stove back in. Close the door and wait for the F9 to flash. Now open your door, and on the right side you should see a tiny peg sticking out on the open oven. Its for the light to come on when the oven door is open and also to let the oven know the door is ajar. Push it in and wait. The door latch circuit should reset like normal, and you will see the latch move back into its normal open position. Which resets the F9 error and allows you once again to use your oven like normal.

I opened the door of the microwave oven but I could feel hot air

is yours a convection and microwave combo oven? if yes the fan is a cool-down fan to blow cold air over the magnatron tube. Microwaves are designed with a multiple number of safety switches usually 2 or more in the door that the magnatron (the thing that generates microve energy) could never come on with the door open.

Cleaning between double glass oven door

Without disassembling the door, you can't. the glass is sandwiched between two rather rugged metalized gaskets to create an air pocket (or vent space) to keep the outside glass cooler than the inside.

Too hot

first thing is to check if it is front vented or rear vented, if it is front vented you will find warm air blowing out above the door. if not it is rear vented and must have a flu installed behind unit.
