Just bought, everything coming in at 1080i not 1080p

I just bought the LC46D62U and it says it is 1080p, but everything is broadcasting in 1080i. My xbox 360, and hd comcast box both are coming in at 1080i when they didn't for my previous samsung lcd. I am not using hdmi cords, but instead are using the red, blue, green cords to connect.

Please advise me how to get it to 1080p.

My Insignia hd 1080p tv is only receiving at 720p. I am using HDMI cables and a telus hd tv box. How do I get it to receive at the full 1080p?

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but there is very little 1080p content available to be viewed on your television. Telus TV outputs only 720p or 1080i video, so you are getting the best available picture already. The exception is Blu-ray, where almost all content is played at 1080p if you use an HDMI cable.

Modern warfare 2 wont play on 1080p but will on 1080i why is this?

If your tv isnt 1080p compatible it wont play. Your tv probably only broadcasts up to 1080i.

1080i on tv and not 1080p

No. Most broadcasts are limited to 1080i. BlueRay discs and (now defunct HDDVD) are the only time you will see 1080p. I heard DirectTV may also be running 1080p soon (or already have the option). In any case, 1080p requires 2x the bandwith vs. 1080i. I assure you that unless you see them side-by-side, you will not notice the difference. You many not notice the difference when you do see them side-by-side. The broadcast controls the 1080i vs. 1080p (not a setting on your TV).

How to get toshiba 42 inch to 1080 from 720

The set doesn't do that, only the broadcast stations can. Hardly anyone broadcast in 1080p. 99% broadcast in 1080i = 720p. Your set will produce it if it can get it. 1080p broadcast is probably a few years away. A Blueray DVD player with a 1080p disc will get it for you. I hope this explains it for you.

My tv is Samsung TOCa750. How do I set it up for 1080p and 120Hz?

Resolution such as 1080p,1080i etc. set by your source of the signal, for example, if your cable box set to 720p that is what you going to get from the TV. Cable box is ont capable of resolution more then 1080i because there is nobody broadcast in 1080p yet. Only way you can get 1080p is BD player, upconverting dvd player or media player. 120 Hz is just a frame rate convertor - takes stendard 60Hz and doubles number of frames to 120. So, you will see 120 frames per second instead of 60.

Samsung sold the LNS4695DX/X as a 1080P TV it only 1080i

Nothing broadcast in 1080p....nothing. You probably just need to set your blu-ray player to output 1080p most will default to low resolution. A 1080i max TV is very rare these days.

Is the protron pltv32cm a high definition tv . I bought it in 2005.

Kind of. It is capable of 720p. So channels like FOX, the ESPN channels, SPEED, and other 720p broadcasts will look fantastic on that display. However, the 1080i broadcasts will be shrunk to fit your screen. They'll still look pretty good, though. Most people consider HDTV to be anything above & beyond 480p (so, 720p, 1080i, 1080p).
