I have a Dell axim x5 and it is stuck on a blue screen with the Dell logo. I have tried a maste reset like hold the power botton and the reset for 2 sec but after that i get a screen with the option clear all data in the memory or cancel this operation. I have tried both option but still nothing stock on the same blue screen. Please help thank you

Perform a Reset

Soft Reset
When you perform a soft reset, the device deletes any data that has not
been saved but saves any data that has been stored in memory. Try
performing a soft reset if the device does not respond when you tap the
display or press a button.
To perform a soft reset, use the stylus to press the reset button.

Hard Reset
NOTICE: When you perform a hard reset, you lose all the data stored on
your device.

Perform a hard reset if:
• You want to delete all the data stored on your device.
• You forget your password and need to clear it.
• Your device is experiencing severe operational problems and you have
already attempted a soft reset.
NOTICE: It is strongly recommended that you back up your data before you
perform a hard reset. See ActiveSync Help on your computer for more
information.
To perform a hard reset:
1 Press and hold the power button.
2 With the stylus, hold the reset button for about 2 seconds.
3 Follow the instructions on the screen.

try a hard reset

Dell Axim x50 / x50v / x51 / x51v:

Make sure the device is on before performing hard reset. To hard reset, press and hold the power button and press in on the reset button (reset hole) on the back of the unit for about 2-3 seconds. Release both buttons and you will see a confirmation screen asking you if you would like to clear all data in memory. To do so press the Contacts button. To cancel press the Mail button.

IT may be that the mainboard is faulty and would need to be replaced.

I have a dell axim x51v stuck on dell logo

First check to see if any of the buttons are stuck. If that doesn't help, try a few simple things with the digitizer, the thing you write on. It could be stuck.If there are any gouges, dents, deep scratches or cracks, that could do it, it's toast - but self repairable if you dare. -However- 2 things to try first just for giggles though if there are no cracks: #1. Use your joystick & enter button to navigate through the Start Menu to Settings>>System>>Screen>> Align Screen and align the screen. Worth a try. #2. There might be some crud stuck between the edge of the digitizer and the edge of the case. That can give you phantom key presses. Take a piece of stiff paper or thin plastic and run it *gently* around under the edge where the case covers the screen to scoop out any stuff that may have settled there. Those blister packs that cut you up when you try to open them works well, credit card is too thick for my taste. #3. If it's been around water, there's a very slight chance that putting it on top of the clothes dryer for a few loads will dry it out.Beyond that, needs technical help.

My Axim X5 is not operating. Green lite is on when it is in craddle. did try resets and it still is not operating at all.

My Dell Axim X5 pocket PC reverts to wrong date

Duh... I figured out that my PC had the date set a month ahead! Not sure how that happened. The Axim was dutifully synching up w/ the wrong date, and so the November appointments didn't register. Thanks for checking.

Blue screen with dell logo??

This is usually called the "Blue Screen of Death" and the system tries to dump memory

See if you can Read any of the text which may detail the error

Try starting it in safe mode by tapping F8 every few seconds during startup

If it starts post back and i'll tell you how to use system restore

If it still fails then call in an Engineer

Dell Axim X5 with Pocket PC 2003 Locked up

With much regret I did a hard reset. It appeared that some how in my carrying case that hard reset got started and I could not get it out of the lock up with out taking it clear through. I hadn't backed up for a couple of month but didn't loose much data. Thanks for the follow up.

Dell Axim X5 Screen Back Light Trouble

Holding down the record button on these units turns the backlight on and off, since this is hardware controlled you should try this first. If you've performed a hard reset and held down record then this is most likely a physical fault, check with Dell to find out your warranty status and find out about the availability of replacement parts.

Backlight not working

Did you try to set the Backlight on in the control panel? (settings>system>brightness) The brightness is often automatically set to 0. If you did this already and it still doesn't work, probably try an email.
