My machine makes a banging noise the last two minutes of the spin cycle. It is not shaking or out of balance and even with a small load. Could a spring or shock be lose or broken?

We are having the same issue. The F21 code just showed up and we cleaned out the front valve, but it still makes the banging noise.

Washing machine-making a loud banging noise when on spin cycle

sounds as though your load might be off balance, and I would make sure the tub springs are intact.

Wash machine won't spin all the time and makes a loud banging noise.

Check to make sure that your clothes are not piled to one side causing the load to be off-balance. If that does'nt fix it then, It may be that your machine has a balance stabilizer on it that has worked its way loose or even off.

Washer spins than it gets off balance and shuts

Hi, Washing machines can become unbalanced when the wash load has too much weight in one area of the basket. A machine in good working order can handle most problems through its balancing mechanisms. However, when washing heavy single items such as comforters, the machine's tub can become so lopsided that it damages the washer.

Washing machines that get unbalanced can shake, make banging noises, and even more across the floor. When machines are secured in one place, they can vibrate and bang so much the entire house shakes and things fall off shelves. This is not good for the washer. Bolts can come loose, and parts can break.

When washing heavy items such as pillows or down coats, stay near the washer so you can correct any balance problems as they occur. Some washers have an automatic shut-off feature when they become too far off-balance. If yours does not, stop the spin cycle, open the lid, and redistribute the load. If this is a continuing problem, you may want to wash heavy items at a coin-operated laundry in a heavy-duty machine.

Take care

It won't spin or do anything, it will only fill, last night it started banging during the spin cycle now it doesn't make any noise at all

I would need a little more infor. - but when your machine bangs on the spin cycle, it usually means your load is unbalanced. So lift open your machine and balance out your clothes. This should clear this up. You see this problem more with heavier loads (eg. towels, jeans, heavy garments, etc.). I try and balance out my laundry as I put it in the machine. It helps a bit, but even so, I still at times have to go balance it out manually. I hope this helps, but if not - then there's some other question's I would ask, but that's where I mentioned needing more info. at the beginning. Good Luck!

Hi, our washing machine started making very loud banging and whining noise in the final spin cycle and the machine was shaking. We have taken off the back. The springs look ok. any suggestions?

Loud banging is usually an unbalanced load. whining noise is some times debris trapped in drain pump causing it to squeal like a fan belt on a car. Strings, threads and hoses tend to get wrapped under agitator and cause noise, too.

Three day old Indesit washing machine

Is it a maytag? My maytag front load washing machine had 2 long bolts with plastic braces on them, to keep the drum still during shipping. Mine would bang and shake all over. I got the book out before I finally figured it out. I had to take the back cover off and remove the bolts and plastic braces over them. They look like they' 8 inches long or so. It works great now.
