How can i get behind the radio - 2006 Lincoln Zephyr

The brake light switch is mounted at the brake pedal. Under the dash. Not behind a radio,.

thats easy the dash panel around radio just pops off with flat head screw driver and 4 bolts hold radio in.however the gem is not behind the radio its behind the fuse block in the dash. in addition if your radio is not working it could be a bad fuse or bad wire .does the radio light up?if so then its not a bad fuse or wire .in witch case check your model xlt eddie baur etc some model have just basic radio other have radio with external amp in the dash behind radio these often go bad it is then up for you to decide to get original equipment to work or install aftermarket radio in some cases after market radio is cheaper and depending on the model you purchase perform better .yah unfortunetly car manufactures install cheap radios in all vehicles wage your options aftermarket radio cd player say sony brand usually around 60$ and shud only take 1 hour to intall hope this helps good luck

General advice:
Radio controls has two plugs:
one is behind the switch,the other is on the back of the radio,ceck to be firmly plugged.
Most commun :radio in plug is loosed.

Normally the code is either in the manual, the glove box or behind the radio itself.
Check the radio last as it might require you to remove some panels, but try to slip under and behind the dash with a mirror/light first, could save you some time.

the radio doesn't have a LED, it is a LCD, LCD display's have no light of there own, LED's do, the problem u have here is that the tiny bulb inside the radio behind the display is burned out, you need to pull the radio out and remove the top cover of the radio, right behind the display you will find a tiny twist in bulb socket, remove it and replace the bulb.

i would say take back that relay and test another, but get the next relay from an auto parts store. dealers always charge way more.

it could be a fuse, & yes there might be a fuse behind the radio depending wat type of radio, but every radio i've seen has one in the back...but i myself wud check the wiring behind the radio cuz if its not getting no power then i think tht the power wire cud be hooked up wrong...check tht & get back to me.

There is an actuater behind the radio, just replace that. It is not very expensive or hard to get to. Best way to get to it is just remove the radio.

If the radio still plays audio, its the little LED behind the screen that has ended its life. if you take the radio apart you will see where it sits behind the screen. if you are handy with a soldering iron, you can replace this rather cheap with a LED from radio shack. Hope this helps!
