Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Camera will turn on and after only a picture or turn will turn itself off. (The lens moves back in). I have replaced batteries but this doesn't fix the problem.

this is not a problem , it means your camera is closing its lenses immediatly after some idle time.
just go through the manual and change the idle time by some margin as per your needs.
your camera is working perfect

Camera immediatly shuts off and lense goes back in.

Sounds to me that ist is more of a charger issue. Try to borrow another charger and see if that works or not.

CANON IXUS 75 Cannot upload photos to pc anymore!

OK, I'VE GOT ONE IDEA THAT MIGHT WORK. IT'S WORTH A TRY. DO THIS. TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF> CONNECT YOUR CAMERA>TURN THE CAMERA ON>THEN, TURN YOUR COMPUTER ON AND SEE IF YOUR COMPUTER WILL RECOGNIZE IT THEN. THIS SHOULD CAUSE THE COMPUTER TO RECOGNIZE THE CAMERA. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS WORKS! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP,REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217.

Try connecting it to a computer and then turning on the camera. For some reason that fixed it for mine.

Can't turn on Vivitar 4345 digital camera

Searching google groups shows others with problems after attaching Vivitar cameras to PC's & then not working. The only fix seems to be leaving the battery out until the camera resets itself. If you can get to the setup menu then try the "default" option to reset the camera to factory settings.

Camera turns on then off

What will $135 plus a bit buy in the way of a new camera? This is a firmware problem- really Kodaks problem they should offer you a replacement camera for a little less than $135. Push them hard.
