Have a Kenmore HE3t washer model # 11042926200 The bearing went. Sounds like a airplane taking off in the sin cycle. Out tub chewed up as well. went to sears. Sine it is 11 years old could not do anything. Had repair guy I use said the entire bering and tub inner and outer would need to replaced. Said the best was to replace it couple hunder more than repair get new. Repair cost $550.00. Saw on line bearing repair kit for $79.00 elete bearing. Thought might be a shot to replace bearing and out tub.

I can't tell you how many times a year I have that description about a front load washer.
I always find the same problem with them too. The tub seals has let water get into the rear drum bearing making the bearing fail.
Remove the back washer panel and look at the center of the tub. You will often see little trail of grease and water residue from the seal leaking.
If you do not have a extended warranty it's can be a costly repair as you can not just replace the rear bearing. You will need to replace the outer tub that come with the bearing pre installed and often the spinner shaft too.

It is for sure you have a bearing problem. You will have to replace both tubs (front and rear). I also suggest you replace the door seal. Check with Sears to have the part numbers and prices. They are a bit expensive parts....hope that helps!!

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. Your tub seal leaked water into the tub bearings causing them to fail. Maytag only offers the bearings as part of the outer tub assembly and the repair can be pricey. A little research may turn up a service company in your area that has the tool to replace only the tub bearing. The repair becomes more affordable that way.

it either is the something in the pump or something in between the inner tub and outer tub

The bearing in the duet is attached to the outer rear tub of the washer. You have to remove the whole rear half of the outer tub. Take off the back and you will see all the screws around the tub where they attach together. you have to buy the whole rear half too. They wont let you replace just the bearings.

Most likely a failed "spinner" assy. The roaring that you hear is the bearing telling you it's had enough and has gone on strike.

MAJOR job! If it's over 5 years old, I recommend calling a professional and get quotes. Then decide what you want to do.

If it's less than 5 years old, it should be under warranty. Contact Sears. Tell them you have a failed spinner and tub bearing assy. and have them do the repair.
