When i plug in my garmin what should come up on the screen

hold your thamb finger at right/bottom cornner of LCD screen, then plug in car charger. unit will reset to factory mode. try it.

1. Connect your satnav to your computer by plugging the mini USB plug into the back of the satnav and the larger USB plug into your computer
2. Open Internet explorer on your computer. In the address bar at the top of the screen where you see http://www. etc type in www.garmin.com
3. Press the enter button on your computer keyboard.
4. At the top of the garmin screen click myGarmin
5. On the left of the next screen click REGISTER YOUR GARMIN DEVICE
6. On the next screen select AUTOMOTIVE
7. Follow the prompts

You'll have to create a username and password. Keep them safe as you'll need them to update your maps.

I would venture a guess that the cable you are using in the vehicle is not a genuine Garmin cable. The units are very sensitive to voltage.

Anything under approximately 10 volts - the Garmin assumes it is plugged into a USB port (Active Cradle)... not a vehicle... and it dims for quicker charging.

Switch to a Garmin OEM cable.

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I spoke to Garmin Support about this issue. There are 2 settings for contrast on the nuvi 1300. You need to set the contrast while it is plugged into the vehicle, and also while it is unplugged from the vehicle. The reason for the 2 settings is to save the charge of the battery while it is not plugged into the vehicle or power source.

Have you tried doing a hard reset,try using the reset button on the bottom of the gps under the serial label.Or try holding the turn off button for about 10 seconds,good luck.

I connected the unit to the car charger instead of the USB charger and then held down the reset for 10-15 seconds, after which the system would show the computer connection on the charger and then boot up when not on the charger.

Do you have screen with cable plugged in a computer? is yes then your charger (power) is not connected to Garmin properly or lose.

If your answer is NO than check your charger may be it's not working.

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers

easy solution...you need to keep this plug above attach to the the Garmin 350...when charging in the car or at home ...plug the power source to the back. Hope this will help...i had the same problem.
