I have a Magavox television and the channels will not show . All channels are fuzzy. It will get only numbers starting with channel 49. I need to do a channel search to get all the channels to show.

have a magavox tv combo, with dvd and vcr. It will not stay on unless you put a tape in and spend 30 minutes to an hour turning it on and it goes off automatic. Less than two years old.

How do i set up my tv with my sony vcr

Hi Katie.. If you are using a coaxial cable to connect your TV and VCR, the TV needs to be tuned to channel 3 or 4. If you are using the Yellow, red and white cables, your TV should be on video mode to work.

Fuzzy picture

Sounds like an AGC [Automatic Gain Control] problem with its video IF stage circuit. Contact any service technician, or service center. This is not a user repairable fault.

How do I get the picture?

The TV is usually set to Channel 3 or Channel 4. You may have a switch on the back of the VHS recorder near which is marked Ch3 Ch4.

Once you correct this, try the following procedure.

Some VHS have a tracking button that allows the user to tune to the best signal. The tracking can also be done from the remote controller.

Usually that tracking function is used as follows.
While movie is playing on the VHS unit and signal gets fuzzy, press the channel key repeatedly (for example >> to increase the channel number). f after awhile pressing the same channel change button does not find a better picture, you should press the other channel change button (to decrease the channel number <<) to see if the picture improves.

If that does not work, IT DOES NOT MEAN that you tv/vcr combo unit is defective. It could just be the movie. The tape is magnetic and it might have been accidentally demagnetized.

If picture is better with another movie/tape, your unit is definitely OK.

One channel fuzzy

Tis is an ongoing problem I seen increase alot over the past few months. From what I can gather, all the channels being broadcast over going from the analog to digital, there's no big suprise to anyone. However, the change from analog to digital is changing at a faster rate, so when you look at the TV some channels will be fine and others will have grey lines, fuzzy picture. The only solution-you need a TV with some kind of digital tuner. On the TV itself if the (TV has one) it will say "SD" or "ED" which stands for standard digital or enhanced digital.

Television stays on one channel

You likely have bad solder connections in the tuner.
