Question about Dryers

Open Question

I have an electric Whirlpool Duet Clothes Dryer that used to run extremely well and dry clothe extremely fast. Had a technician come and look and all he could do was start replacing parts until he replaced the right one. I find this quite hard to believe, so I'm turning to you guys because you haven't let me down yet. I have noticed that the "sensing" light remains on when it used to change between wet, damp etc. I've cleaned the unit thoroughly including the vent and exhaust pipe. What would cause the "sensing light to remain on? The technician suggested not using dryer sheets because it can clog the sensors, which we have stopped using but I still don't believe in randomly replacing parts until he gets lucky and I'm broke.....

Either the heater element is breaking or is loose and getting only 110V instead of 240V.  First I would check the wall outlet with a voltmeter for 240V between Line1 and Line2.  Also check the connections and continuity for the heater element.

SOURCE: my whirlpool duet gas dryer (model ggw9200lw1) is taking too long

There is a rare chance that the gas supply is clogged. Dealing with gas pipes is dangerous business, don't fool with it unless you are experienced with plumbing. After checking a gas pipe, do a bubble check for leaks with dish soap from a sponge or sprayer. There are small filters and traps placed here and there in the plumbing of some units. They are similar to the ones on a washing machine hose, but smaller.

SOURCE: kenmore 90 series dryer leaves clothes damp.

Sounds like a venting problem at the house pipe.
Make sure the house venting pipe is completely clean and vent hood just outside is free of any blockages.
If all that is cleaned I would check all working thermostats and high limit thermostat as well.
GOOD LUCK!

SOURCE: whirlpool duet dryer - when using the settings

Easy fix: Look inside the drum below where the filter goes in. You will see two metal strips. They sense the wetness. Now get this: the dryer sheets rub against them and a thin wax buildup on them prevents the controls from properly determining wetness. The control has no clue the clothes are still damp and thinks everything is kosher; so it advances to the end. Solution. Clean the stuff off of the sensors so that they can sense the true wetness once again.

You most likely have a bad heating element.

My duet whirpool electric dryer keeps stoping before my clothes are dry

Make sure you are not using a timed drying setting. Use one of the pre programmed functions on the dial. These settings are meant to use a sensor and stop when the clothes are dry. If the problem continues on one of these settings, there is likely a problem with the sensor or your heating element

Why does the display say"wet" when the clothes are

Try cleaning your moisture sensing strips with windex. Maybe something wet and sticky is on them

look at the vent outside and see if it closing or even has a cover this allows cold air inside the dryer and cause it to take longer to dry
