My onkyo dx c200 5 disc cd changer will only play the laser cleaner disc, none of my audio discs will play. they try to load but don't. Any suggestions on where to start with troubleshoot/fixing?

    Are you saying it has now died completely?

    One must weight the cost of repair against the cost of replacement.

    One sold on eBay recently for $53. There are more fish in that sea.

What is the most likely cause of a "NO DISK" error with the Onkyo DX-C390 6-Disk changer? Would it be the laser pickup assembly?
Could be dirty laser lens, dying laser, faulty component,
Due to the complexity of multi-disk changers, it may be best to have the device looked at.
You can try running a cleaning disk through it first, but from your post, it sounds like this unit may have multiple problems and need tested by a physical person.

ONKYO CD DX-C390 6 CD CHANGER NOT READING
No laser, means no laser. Typical symptom of laser failure. Most CD players can have the laser replaced fairly easily and cheaply.
Contact your local technician, and he should be able to replace it quickly.

In my restaurant we have 2 c390s and they will play 5 or 6 songs on random then they stop playing. Also if there is not 6 discs in it will do the same thing please help?

Error message (protect) cd plays then goes silent then plays again. have cleaned laser several times with cd cleaner disk.
Dirty lasers don't cause "protection" problems. Are you sure thay message is displayed on the CD player? That word is nowhere in its manual.

Plays 1st disc ok...2nd disc ok has trouble seeing 4-6
Hello,that unit uses one laser and the tray brings each cd to that laser for it to be read.The fact that a particular disc is having problems leads me to believe the disc is at fault,look for scratches and/or fingerprints on its clear metallic side.

Problem with my Onkyo DX-C380 CD Changer. Loading drawer opens O.K. and closes after disc is loaded. However, carousel then starts rotating thru all disc trays and doesn't stop where the disc is loaded....
Try cleaning the glass laser eye lens with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. If cleaning doesn't work, you may want to change or laser eyee unit.

Onkyo 6 disc cd player onkyo DX-C390
my onkyo 6 disc changer was doing the same thing was doing the same thing. i opened it up and noticed the cds weren't quite stopping at the right spot. so i loosened the screw right in the middle of the disc tray. now operates perfectly now. i think maybe with age, the belt tension got a little lighter ant loosening the screw compensated for it.
