Hi, I've just got a 2002 ford puma which has a radio cd/cassette player ( the audio book says, unit type FD 600A, s/n M003495. The problem is, I can get medium wave stations, but when I try fm, it will search and find a channel, but then only produces a hiss.
The aerial is connected in the back of the radio and the car has a roof aerial. Looks as tho the radio may need replacing. The aerial is connected in the back of the radio and the car has a roof aerial.

Recently got a cd changer from a carboot and need to connect it to my Ford Focus 6000CD radio.... only thing is i have no cables. can you please guide me with the kind i need?
Make sure your cd medium is compatible with your Sony unit. Some cd types that have been burned on a computer may not be compatible. Check your instruction book for your Sony unit to see what types of cd medium you can use.. Also, the lens on you cd player could be dirty and may need a cleaning CLICK HERE to see the Radio Shack lens cleaner. You can also get them at may other locations like Walmart, Target, Sears, and Best Buy. Good Luck! : )
Sounds like you need the "radio code". To get the radio code you will need the serial number of the back of the radio. It was given to the original owner with the books. Some times the dealer will put a sticker with a 5 digit number on the walls of the glove box. If that sticker has more then 5 numbers call your local honda dealer because that might ve the serial number.
I do not know who told you that but that is bull. I have installed many stereos, especially CD players, in to many fords. I don't care if the year of the car was 1978 or 2006. As long as you have the right harness connected you will have no problem with the system in you car.
