I have a phillips 60pp9100d that has no picture or sound. I keeps flashing I2c bus error. I have resoldered the flyback connections and anything else that looked suspect. After turning the tv back on I get the same result,I can hear the flyback powering up as before but thats it. Do I need to proceded with replacing the Ic chips or go in another direction?

    IC7302 should be checked for in and out voltages to see is its the IC
    istself that is at fault or possibly a leaky diode after or before the
    IC. Checking pin voltages will be the only way to track the problem
    down and isolate exactly whats happening. If you need more assistance
    please let me know

Hi,
The I2C message that you get means the Inter IC communication bus on the system board has gone bad. Replacing the IC would not solve the problem.Philips patented this technology to reduce the number of ICs on the systemboard.There would be a physical I2C chip on the motherboard.

I would suggest update the firmware on the board, or try replacing the I2c interface controller chip.

Sounds like it has an intermittant connection somewhere which is very common now a days due to the lead-free solder all the makers went to. Resolder everything that looks suspicious, especially the bigger components. It could also be a failure of the flyback transformer though which often times fail like this.
