Hello, My camera takes pix fine, but they will not transfer into my computer. The transfer via USB worked many times until now. I can hear the camera motor processing for the transfer, but nothing gets...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

My son is in France with his two week old PowerShot sd750. Says it worked fine until yesterday, but now will not start up. He checked the battery by putting it in a friends camera. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem with my olympus E520 camera. I'm on holiday too...disappointing to say the least. If I find a solution I'll let you know asap!

Well, we are having problems with the screen turned black when we try to take a picture, just like others on this website. The LCD works for the menu, but not for picture taking. It quit in the middle of the trip to Monterey. As for your problem, can you remove the chip and put the chip into the computer. That's what I just did and I copied all the pictures we took (until the black screen problem struck yesterday) and moved them to my computer that way because we can't find the cord we bought to transfer. Try that! It worked for us! Good luck to you...
