I have epson lq-2180 printer with the following problem: Paper out & pause indicator is continously on when I try to print. The paper is rolling when I push pause button.
Printer can't have a password, maybe a network password you are referring to? I double checked in the manual for this printer and there is no way to set a password on the printer...

Probably needs a good cleaning - with a vaccuum and some compressed air.
Dot matrix (impact) printers usually have a couple of optical sensors - disks with holes in them - to let the printer know where the head is, how fast it's moving, if it jams, etc.
If there is too much dust, dirt, or bits of paper interfering with the beam of light passing through the rotating disks, most printers will stop and indicate some sort of error, rather than force the motor - which may damage the plastic teeth on the gears.
