The little pipes that spray the windshield washer fluid clog very easily. Use either a very thin piece of wire or a very small drill bit (a welder's "tip cleaner" works perfect!) to clean out the sprayers. Use only 100% bottled washer fluid and not tap water since the minerals will clog up the sprayers.

Make sure the rubber hoses between the pump and the sprayers did not pop off or split. If your fluid level goes down but you get no spray it is going somewhere it is not supposed to.

When you activate your windshield washers, you should be able to hear that little pump run- it makes a very distinctive sound. If you do not hear it, there is a wiring problem.

In my 2007 Saturn Vue there is what I think is an air pump which is cracked that one port is not connected to anything.

There is a electric motor that pumps washer fluid . Located in the bottom of the washer fluid tank .
Wash Operation (Front and Rear Wipers)
The front and rear washer systems use the same windshield washer fluid pump. When either the front or rear wiper is in the washer position voltage will be supplied to one side of the windshield washer fluid pump (depending on whether it is front or rear), while the other side of the pump is grounded.
At this point, the windshield washer fluid pump sprays solvent onto the windshield. When the front or rear washer is activated, the BCM receives an input from the switch that is activated. The BCM will control the wipers while in the WASH mode. The BCM will control either the front wiper relay or the rear wiper relay to turn on the wipers. The windshield wipers operate at low speed for 3 swipes and returns to the park position.

When turning on the washers do you hear the motor run ? Have some one try it while you listen at the washer fluid tank ! These pump motors do go bad .
turn OFF the ignition.
Disconnect the harness electrical connector of the windshield washer fluid pump.
Connect a test lamp from the windshield washer pump control circuit to a good ground .
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Press the front washer switch.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
YES or NO !

2004 Pontiac Grand AM windshield wipers work but washer does not come on or pump fluid. Cannot hear pump running. Cannot find a reference to a fuse for the wiper pump. i have replaced pump.

Could be that the switch that activates the washer pump is not closing and that explains why the pump is not working. That has a separate switch from the wipers because you only activate it on demand.

2008 mustang and wipers work fine but washer fluid wont work?

The fluid could be frozen in the hoses or the pump is broken. If you drive the car for awhile, the hoses will thaw out and the washers will work. Try getting fluid good to -20F. This fluid will be good for most areas in the US.
Replace the pump if you turn on the switch and hear no sound from the engine bay. Have someone standing close by for this test.

Fuse blows everytime I attempt to use the washer fluid.

really?! the water pump?! the water pump has nothing to do with your wipers it is part of the COOLING system. as for your issue...it could be a short in the wiper/signal arm in the steering column, or it could be the motor in your washer fluid bottle. the motor is what pushes the fluid through to your windshield and if its gone bad it will blow your fuses as well. i would start with the washer fluid reservoir motor and go from there

Turn signal switch, intermittent wipers not working correctly, washer not working,is all this controlled by the turn signal switch assembly ? or could it be the wiper relay module and washer pump motor,

If the wipers work on normal setting, would not be a relay problem. The intermittent wipers and the washer motor are separate issues-if all on the same stalk, it is probably a bad switch. Hot wire the washer motor with jumper wires to check motor operation. The motor is probably mounted on the bottom of the washer fluid reservoir. Good luck.

My wiper pump is not working on my 2002 Jeep Liberty. I think its my pump fus beause the wipers work fine. Any ideas?

sounds like a bad pump, the fuse for the washers is the same as the wipers, check connection at pump and make sure washer fluid is not frozen if all checks ok. then replace the pump. hope this helps.

20003 Intrepid - My wiper washer fluid and motor quit working.

Your wiper motor most likely burnt out. And your washer fluid pump did the same.

Windshield washer does not pump fluid

The pump works off the same circuit as the wipers, so it would be same fuse. Most likely the pump is no bad.
