Horizontally Outstretched So my RCA F27650 27" TV thinks it's a wide screen. It annoys me very much, because when playing the Playstation 2 on it everytime, it's frustrating to know what I'm doing and where I'm going. I've gotten as far as into it's Service Mode and was very disappointed to see that it did not have any adjustments on how to shrink it. I've corrected all of it's Vertical problems, but it just seems that there is absolutely no way to adjust the Horizontal view. I'd be sad to throw it away because of this one problem. I've picked it up from a yard sale, for free, and the sellers told me that it was just fine until somehow it went like this. The original remote to the TV is long-lost, the manual too, it was just the TV itself. I hope there is someway to correct this, there must be a way. Is there something I'm missing? I cannot afford a repairman to come over and fix it, I'd just like to gather more information and get this fixed myself.

Had the same problem. With mine the other day you probably moved your Playstation 3 too another tv and set your 1080i,720,480 to high deaf on settings in Playstation. You have to change them back to automatic that TV says HDTV but it only plays Playstation 3 on 480 checked in settings of Playstation. Played mine for 4 years on that TV moved and got a 3d wifi then dad got him one And was going to trash that RCA but I told him I would take it for now too keep from buying another TV at this time got it in my new home wouldn't play video but it. would sound tried different cables but still now change. But remembered i changed all of my settings over when I got 3D TV. Playstation 3 hadn't been on know other TV. Since I owned it but that RCA now won't work then came to me last night and playing it on both TVs but you have to change the settings on it before moving it or you cant see the screen to fix it do that guarantee it will fix it. Like you said everything else works PS 1,PS 2,DVD, cable,but PS 3 won't its the settings in theme,and audio.

Hi, Unplug the TV for 30 minutes and then try again. Go to menu settings and select video 1 or 2 but make sure you have it connected to V 1 or V2. If your play station has HDMI cable connection use that. If not use RCA jacks on the back of your TV and PS. Good luck.

Try a new video cable from your system to the TV. Or try a different input on the TV. Could be as simple as that.

You have a very Technical problem with this TV. you may have 2 big problems, ballast and dmd. but it could be something else. If you decide to repair it, honestly you will spend more than 300dlls on it, if you like to, go to fixyourdlp.com

That is the way the DVD makers intended it to be. The TV cannot be adjusted to change that if it is a widescreen or "letterbox" movie.

make sure you do not have the automatic screen mode set to wide screen on tv menu .Also if you have cable box set to wide mode only then the tv will only display wide mode.

USE a VCR between the PS2 and the Sylvania TV.  Hook the PS2 A/V cable RCA connectors( Red, Yellow, White) to one of the the Video input RCA connectors( Yellow, Red, White) on the VCR. Hook the VCR Cable output to your Sylvania Cable input. Set the Sylvania Tv to channel 3 or 4.  Set the VCR channel to Line 1 or Line 2.  This should work. I hope it helps you.
