Usually the paper source is set to Auto in Printing Preferences so if you put paper in manual tray it will feed from manual tray and will override the tray 1 selection. If you specifically want to change it to a tray disabling tray 1 you can do so if you go into Control Panel, Printer and right click on the printer and select Printing Preferences and then on Paper menu change the paper source.

And no, you can't disable it, just feed from a different tray to bypass it.

Sir hp1020 printer initialize when print command then printer not work no sound on print please suggest me

1, The problem occurs due to the firewall setting on your computer. Disable the firewall protection on the computer and check the connection.
2, If you disable the firewall settings of the printer, the printer is prone to potential threats from the internet. Always keep a check on your computer protection.
3, If you are using your printer for some time, disable the connection, and after the usage, you can enable the firewall settings in the printer. Doing the above-mentioned process is risky for your device if it is done without any proper measures.

I have an HP color Laserjet 3700 attached via USB to Windows 7. It prints 1 copy successfully. When I try to print 2 or more copies it tries to select paper from tray 1 (which doesn't exist) and then...

To Disable Mopier Mode: Windows 7
01. Click the start button.
02. Click Devices and Printers.
03. Right click your Printer.
04. Select Printer Properties.
05. Click the Device Settings Tab.
06. Scroll down to the bottom. If necessary, expand Installable Options.
07. Click on Mopier Mode.
08. Select Disable in the selection box that appears.
09. Click Apply.
Mopier Mode should now be disabled and you should now get multiple copies.
I hope this helps

Hi, I have windows 7 but cannot install a printer - I simply get an error ''This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer. Please contact your system administrator'' UAC is on...

Though you are an administrator if UAC is on you're not gonna be able to install anything unless you right click the installer and click on "Run as administrator"

If you are annoyed of the UAC you can try to disable it try to follow this link and Method 1 is the one I recommend but it's up to you if you Method 1 didn't disable it.

Cannot change paper size of trays 1 and 2. Tray 1 shows legal and want to change to letter.

To disable the operator panel menus so that changes cannot be made to the printer default settings: 1 Turn the printer off. Note: Disabling the operator panel menus does not prevent access to the Job Menu or to Print and Hold functionality. 2 Press and hold Select and Return and turn the printer on. 3 Release the buttons when you see Performing Self Test. Config Menu appears on the first line of the display. 4 Press Menu until you see Panel Menus, and then press Select. Disable appears on the second line of the display. 5 Press Select. Locking Menus appears briefly. 6 Press Menu until you see Exit Config Menus, and then press Select. The menus are disabled. If you press Menu, the message Menus Disabled appears. To enable the menus: 1 Repeat steps 1 through 4. 2 Press Menu until you see Enable. 3 Continue with steps 5 and 6.

Can't print a complete print job without problems

There may just be some type of configuration issue going on if you don't have a drive installed in this printer. If there is no drive installed the printer drivers may be functioning as if there's one present which results in this error. I'm providing you with a few possible solutions as it is more difficult to pinpoint an issue when you don't have access to the device.

If it is a configuration issue you can try these steps:

1. Mopier mode should be disabled.
Right-click printer then click properties.
You should find a device settings tab...scroll down to mopier
mode and make sure it's disabled.

2. Printer Hard Disk should be disabled.
Right-click printer then click properties.
Go to the Device Settings tab...scroll down to Printer Hard Disk
and make sure it's disabled.

3. If you had to disable one or both features then the very last thing that you want to do is try printing a multiple page document to see if this worked.

If you check these two settings and find that both the mopier mode and printer hard disk are disabled then you can try this:

Click this sentence to follow the link to HP's driver and software page for the 4600 series printers. Find your operating system in the list and click on it. This will bring you to the page with drivers, firmware, and additional software provided for your printer type. Try downloading the drivers (unless you have the installation CD) and reinstalling the printer. Also, make sure that you have the latest Service Pack installed for your operating system. If you're using Windows XP then the latest Service Pack is 3.

Hope this helps. I work with HP printers and sometimes I have to try more than one solution before I find the right fix.

Please share your experience by rating this solution and thanks for using Fixya.
