You have to totally uninstall the printer, go to HP.com, download the lateset software and follow install directions exactly, meaning NO plug and play.

It may be that you just downloaed the priter side driver only, you need the all in one driver for it to use the scaner.

just connect the printer , u r getting new hardware found ans searching the driver , u insert the driver cd in the cd drive and click ok
