SOURCE: jvc kd-sh55 head unit

Have you tried pressing the "RESET" button on the stereo? I have a JVC unit in my car and the reset button is a tiny hole behind the detachable face. Take a pencil or a pen and insert the end into the tiny hole an hold for a few seconds. This will reset the stereo and you should be able to eject the CD as you normally would. If it's a mini-disc (8mm) you probably would have to take the unit apart and manually retrieve it - big hassle. Check the owner's manual to find out where the "RESET" button is if it is not behind the face. If you don't have the owner's manual, you can download one from jvc.com.. Hope this helps.

Try resetting the stereo. The reset button is located on the bottom left of the face plate. It is a tiny hole and you take a pencil or a pen and insert it in the hole and hold for a few seconds. This may work... Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Just installed KD-SH55 JVC in Tahoe myself, no lights on but ejec

if it has a face plate and most after market radios do then it may not have a good connection check and make sure it does maybe even clean them with alcohol also make sure you got a good ground it may not have enough power to come on all the way (<-- rarely is the case) but it sounds like a bad radio

SOURCE: I have a JVC KD SH55 and won't eject CD. Fix please. Recall?

there is a ribbon wire that connects the faceplate contacts behind the faceplate that always go bad on all radios with rotating faceplates. you can probably find this part on ebay or on parts.com or by jvc.

Jvc kd-sh55 wont turn on

Check wiring if it is a new installation. If it failed, then check fuse. If fuse is good, then need service. Sometimes it could be due to the front panel. Call customer relations if it is in warranty.
