York c730 exercise bike - screen works when plugged in but so dim can barely read it. can i make it brighter or do i need to replace something?

The screen is broken on your exercising bike and it is not working anymore and needs to be replaced.

The 210p is a discontinued model, replaced by the 220p. Not much changed between the 210p and the 220p. The manual for the 220p would likely suffice.

Well, first you will have to check your options, if you can read it enough to get in there.  You may have the backlight turned off.  If the backlight is not turned off, then you probably have a bad backlight and will have to take it to your provider to get it fixed.  Replacing a screen/backlight is not something I would attempt to do unless you are certain you know exactly what you are doing as you can render the phone completely useless.

Try resetting the laptop to default settings in the BIOS. If that don't work, sounds like there's a problem with the backlight in the LCD Display.
Most laptops come with Ambient Light Sensors, that can adjust the display based on the lighting in the room.

A very dim screen is an indicator that the screen inverter or the screen itself is going out. Start by checking the screen connections, they sometimes work loose. If the connections are good, then it's the inverter or screen and will need to be replaced.
