There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Card Locked. How to unlock

Do you mean the SD card is locked to "read only" and will not allow the formatting or saving of photos to it? If so, remove the card and you should see a switch on it that slides to lock and unlock it.

I have a epson picture mate photo printer I get a question mark when I put the SD card in

I know this is late, but in case someone comes looking...
The PictureMate only read standard, or "non-progressive" JPEGs. If you save the JPEGs as progressive (perhaps without knowing it), the printer won't read them and you'll get question marks.

The only solution is to open and re-save the photos, being careful to use the "non-progressive" option.

In Photoshop it looks like this when saving:

How to unlock a sd card on a hitachi dz bx 35a

SD and Mini SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects photos on the memory card and prevents photos from being deleted or added to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts and you can save photos on the memory card.

How to unlocked memory card?

A locked memory card will not allow you to write to the card; however, you will be able to read from it. Unlocking the card will allow you to delete files and write to the card. You will want to unlock it before inserting into the camera since this will allow you to store folders or files as well as take pictures with your camera.

first you need Look at the sides of your memory card for a tab in a slot. And then Move this tab up or down to put it in line with the icon that is on the card of an unlocked padlock. This unlocks your memory card. You will want to make sure it is always unlocked before using it in your digital camera; otherwise, it will not save your photos. Then you need to Insert the memory card back into your camera after unlocking to start using it to store pictures.Take the memory card out when done.
Move the tab on the memory card back to the closed padlock to re-lock it. This is not mandatory; however, it will ensure that your photos do not get deleted if other people have access to your camera. You can store the card in the camera or the case that came with the memory card.
That it!

When i click photos it comes(car, phone, dishw as saving failed..it was alright first..its samsung corby..this problem occured just today

First check whether the phone is configured for saving the photos to memory card or phone memory. In case it is configured for saving the photos on memory card, change it to save in phone memory and then try saving the photos. In case you are still not able to save the photos, you will have to reset the phone to factory defaults. In case you are able to save the photos in phone memory, try the memory card in another phone, if no go then you will have to format the memory card.

Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for. You'll need to use a card reader with the software. It won't work with the cable to your camera.

After you've recovered the photos, see this other article to help troubleshoot the problem with your card.

Cant get photos to save to phone?? ericsson aino

May that the phone card reader is not reading the card properly. Use the card on the PC, copy all the data to the PC and the let the phone format the card. Then it will start reading and writing to it.

You may try to format the memory card and then try again. If needed, you can use a camera photo recovery tool to recover photos from memory card.

Try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your digital camera memory card, here are some for your options.

Photo Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Recovery for Mac

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
