  5. Select "Manual Setup" and press "OK".
  6. Select "IP Address" and press "OK".
  7. Use the numeric keypad to enter the desired IP address for your printer. Make sure to use a unique IP address that is not already in use on your network.
  8. Press "OK" to save the changes.
  9. Press the "Back" button until you return to the main menu.
  10. Turn the printer off and on again to apply the new settings.
After following these steps, your printer should have a static IP address that will not change. You may need to update the settings on your computer or other devices to use the new IP address in order to print.

Hi - in my three-computer, PC network environment, I just changed from a static IP to a dynamic IP situation, and can't use some of the printers. I think it's because my DP 300U print server is stuck on...

Shut down all the printers and computers.
Boot all the printers first to establishe their IP addresses.
Then turn on a computer and search the network group for what is online. All the printers should show as long as they have theit IP address.
Once their static IP is established the rest shall follow with what ever IP addresses are left. A dynamic IP setup grabs the available ip address and can conflict with a device that has that static IP if the static IP device is powered up after.

How to configure ip adress in printronic printer p7500 Lmp with lan

ideally, a printer should be configured with a "static" ip and not a "dynamic" such as your computer and/or laptops. try using the wireless network wizard accessable via control panel.

After entering the IP address of my NEC IT3530D printer, the browser comes back with ''The Webpage cannot be found''. It used to work from on computer but now that one doesn't even work.

if you set the printer's IP address to static. make sure that the IP address of the printer is not conflicting with the IP address of the computer. and for your printer and computer to work properly try to access the GUI of your router. permanently assign the IP address of the printer, so that the next time the router updates the IP addresses, it will not use the static IP add of the printer.

About n/w printer

If you have the network enabled 1022 you need to find out it's current IP address. To do this press & hold the Go button on the top of the printer (the large button) for 5 - 10 seconds or until the printer starts to print. This prints out the configuration page.
The printer is set to get an IP address via DHCP from the factory, but once you have it's IP address you need to give it a static IP address. You can do this by typing the IP address into a web browser & go to the network tab. choose an IP address that has not been allocated already & apply the changes.
You will need to type the new IP address into the browser if you want access to change further settings.
You can then add the printer using the new static IP address.

HP Officejet printer

i assume that your printer is connected to a network. if so, it could be that the printer is set to use dhcp for the ip address. and if that's the case, it's better to set the printer to use static ip address since there would come a time that the dhcp server (a router most of the time) would provide another ip addresses to all the devices connected to it. that could be the reason why you are getting a "no connection" message (disconnecting and reconnecting it at times would solve the problem temporarily).

here are the steps on how to set static ip on the printer using a windows computer.(Note: the installation cd can automatically assign a static IP address as long as the printer does not obtain a dynamic (dhcp) address)

- boot up your computer the normal way so it'll get an ip address from your dhcp server
- then turn off your dhcp server so that the printer will not get any ip address via dhcp
- reset the printer to set its factory default configuration (with no dhcp address)
* unplug the printer from the power
* plug the power cord back in while holding in the printer’s
report button (it will try to find a dhcp server; after about three
minutes of no dhcp response, the printer will default to a static ip address of 192.0.0.192

- then print a configuration page to confirm that the ip address of the printer is set to 192.0.0.192

- then press the report button (wait until IP address is 192.0.0.192 before proceeding. if it remains set to 0.0.0.0, check the network cable connection to the printer and to the network is secure. If some other address appears repeat steps 3 and 4 until the default address appears
- you can now start the software installation cd

*during the installtion, follow these steps:
- select the model of the printer that you are using which is hp officejet before clicking on "next"
- then select "do network settings for me, then press "next
*follow the instructions on the remaining install screens
- the software will pick an ip address in the private 169.254.x.x range (not available on the open Internet) and permanently assign it to the printer. it will also set up a static route to that address in the computer’s printer configuration
- turn the dhcp server back on by turning on the dhcp server by
connecting your cable/dsl modem or dhcp to the network. because the hp now has a permanent static ip address, it will
no longer try to use dhcp server to get an address
- install the software on the other computers on the network who will be using the printer. the installation software will discover the hp printer at the 169.254.x.x address, and will add the static IP address in each computer’s printer configuration

Note: if the installation cd will permit you to change th private ip address from 169.24.x.x, it's better to set it on the same range as of the ip address given by your dhcp server (for example your dhcp server provides ip addresses starting from 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.250, set the printer's ip address to 192.168.1.59-below or any ip address that will not compromise any ip addresses that were already being used by your other devices)

hope this'll help you but if you'll have other concerns just ask me.

ciao!
