Do u want to resolve the f-13 fault code ON HOTPOINT WD machines
Fix the fault . It is a tricky job but the heater thermostat switch has tripped as it senses something burning. Probably a little bit of fluff on the heater element inside the heater unit.. There are 2 switches on top of this heater unit. One where the 2 blue wires go on the top left of the 3rd picture and the other which has a tall black wire connector on shown in the middle of the 3rd picture. Remove that connector and undo the holding screw . You can then reset the switch. The switch is a small circular switch hidden beneather the connector on the photos. This thermostat switch has a yellow. red dot ontop of it. If you use a small pin or needle and press into that dot you will hear it tick back into place. you have reset the switch now. You will probably need to clean the inside of the heater element unit to get rid of the fluff particles or it will keep switching off. To take this apart you will need a set of Star screwdrivers. Its a bit tricky but you will be able to undo the star screws and take them all out. I will add some photos to show you the unit apart. You can see the build up of fluff on the photos i have added from my hotpoint WD860 heater unit. This is a tricky job and takes about an hour due to the screw being awkward to take off and put on again but mine hasnt faulted for 2 years since sorting it out. You can buy a new Thermostat switch which is about 10 pounds sterling from Hotpoint or other spares stores.

When i set my drier to dry on high heat it keeps tripping the electric with error code f-13 please could you advise me on why this is thanks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Indesit (Hotpoint, Ariston) 'F13's refer to 'thermistor circuit fault', 'dryer fan not working', 'dryer NTC (thermostat) fault' and other similar things! There CAN be problems with poor connectivity between cables and plugs/ sockets which could cause similar symptoms. It realy needs a service call to identify/cure, sorry ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Please can you advise what the error code f13 means on hotpoint wdd960 washing machine? I have notived that it often happens on the drying cycle of the 60 minute quick wash dry programme. Is it safe to...

its the dryer fan thermostat, faulty. the unit will turn off if it does not read the thermostat and that's why you have a code. I would say its safe to use but would have the thermostat replaced. here is a video on how to replace the heater. https://www.espares.co.uk/advice/careandmaintenance/how-to-fix-an-f13-error-on-a-washer-dryer-hotpoint-indesit and these are the sensors. https://www.partmaster.co.uk/washing-machine/wdd-960-k-uk-f069442/thermostat/catalogue.pl?shop=hotpoint&path=52516&model_ref=967828&refine=thermostat, hope this helps.

Macine stops on drying programme and F13 is displayed. What is this?

High temperature Rise In Drying cycle due to Reduced air flow through dryer heater assembly.
Check operation of fan motor and dryer filter for blockage...fluff/fibres is the main suspect i think as fibres attatch itself to the fan blade and slows the revolutions or create an obstruction in the silver dryer chamber on top of the tub beneath the lid... Good luck..

Cycle ctopped and is flashing f 05

F05 means pressure jammed on full.
Check pump for blockage, or filter if waher has one.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Squeak when running the dryer

It's the roller axles and/or the motor shaft. Remove the front of the dryer and lubricate same.

F13 error during drying cycle

Hi, that indicates that either the fan motor is not working/ blocked or the dryer thermistor (thermostatic sensor) is playing up. Of course, the pcb reads the sensor so it could also be that causing the error.

Fault f13

Hi. F13 indicates dryer fan motor or thermistor problem
If you can't hear the fan motor running on the dry cycle then it is probably faulty.
Hope this helps.
Please feedback.
Thanks

Hotpoint Washer Dryer WD865 - Dryer Problems

thermister blown or thermal fuse which is a black plug in the top of the dryer box or yellow sleeved wire, if it was noisy maybe the fan has come loose from it's motor. you will need to remove the dryer box on top of the drum to see if the fan is binding. you can push it back to where its not binding and tighten the nut-ANTICLOCKWISE, LEFT HAND THREAD.
usually the machine runs through a check before starting a cycle and will see an f13 and not start even a wash., so you will need to replace the blown parts.

F 13 ???????

f13 means the dryer heater is not working the thermal fuse on top of the dryer that connects inline with the heater is open circuit this is most likely due to the fan dropping and stalling causing the overheat or poor airflow due to a buildup of fluff in the dryer
