My Hoover Elite 1210 toploading washing machine seems to make a horrible off balance sound on the spin cycle - even when there is a small load on. What can I do to fix it?

How to fix unbalanced high efficiency top load washer. ... I am having a MAJOR problem with unbalanced ...
When Loading, Always Distribute Clothes Evenly (weight wise) With A Light Load Usually Clothes Will Become On One Side Before End Of Wash Cycle--If You Look Before Spin Cycle And This Had Happened, Redistribute and restart from present position (cycle wise)
does ur washer shake & move also? if so, it may be that the loads r too small. especially with top loaders, when the machines not full, the clothes r not evenly distributed and that could do it. if u stop the cycle and evenly distribute the clothes, it should stop. hope that helps.
Good morning! It's common to a washing machine to go out of balance everytime we exceeded the prescribed capacity load (as indicated in the enclosed manual upon purchase of the unit). the fitted new pump is not the source of such problem. Please try to review the manual of your machine and take note of the required capacity load which I think should not exceed 6kg. Best regards.
Hoping to be of help after the spin dry wouldnt work on our hoover elite 1210.
It would do the wash cycle fine but as soon as it needed to drain, it wouldn't.
My handy man (Husband) is great at fixing things and opened the front panel by undoing the screws.
Near the motor on the bottom left, there is a wheel/fan looking thing.
(Turn the machine off first)
He tried to spin the wheel but it would only move clockwise and not anti-clockwise like it is supposed to.
So he gave the fan a few spins clockwise before giving it a gentle pull outwards in which it loosened the wheel and was able to move anticlockwise again.
We then turned the machine on and it started spinning and draining the machine.
This machine is a work horse and I refuse to get another. They don't make them like they used to!!
Mine has a leak and we use a drip tray underneath at the moment. So long as it works. I am happy.
Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
This type of thing should not be required. Front load washing machines (well, topload too i guess) will balance themselves out for the spin cycle unless the machine is grossly overloaded.
Sounds like your front to back spring is pulling to tight, sometimes you need to replace it and sometimes you can take it off and stretch it. hope this helps
